"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Contemplating hiring a pro photographer to take pictures of me for OLD, but still on the fence about it.

Is hiring a professional photographer to take pictures of you for OLD considered try hard? Wouldn't that prove you are a desperate loner? If you we're popular with social status you'd have pictures of you taken at events you've attended by friends with friends. You wouldn't need to waste your money on hiring a pro. Besides you'd look like an absolute weirdo having a professional photographer following you around in a crowd.

How do you get away with hiring a pro photographer to take pictures of you that aren't looking like you're a loner or being in a crowd / with friends looking like a desperate weirdo taking pictures for a dating site?

Not sure if it's worth it.

Opinions?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Professional photos are useful for more than just OLD.

I wouldn’t pay for them just to boost my OLD profile - it would have to be primarily for getting better photos to be used professional/career aspects. Then if any are good enough, sure throw them on your OLD profile.

Your cell is all you need.

3-6 photos reflecting your smile, style, physical build, passions. One bathroom-selfie photo max. Obviously leverage the camera to showcase your assets. If you're fat then emphasize your smile. If you're in good shape perhaps a photo of you doing something outdoors or training at the gym. Simple stuff like that. Doesn't have to be glitzy or "professional."

It's worth the time and effort: learn how to use a free delay-time app on your cell and don't be afraid to take a lot of photos. Take an hour or two snapping and editing your photos. Look at each image and keep deleting them until you see the best version of yourself in your photos.
That's what I'm thinking. IMO hiring a pro to take pictures of you would mean either you look like a desperate try hard if seen outdoors in crowded public places with them snapping away and or a weirdo if in an outdoor picture taken alone.

Best to use your best pictures taken by friends in a gym out at an event etc. Besides not wasting the money on hiring a pro.

No one is fooled by looking at a photo of you which has been touched up etc. Where you are alone in a crowd or standing alone by yourself that's not even mentioning a modelled pose indoors that looks to professional.

It's like wearing a three piece expensive suit to hang out in a dive bar. Professional pictures just seem off when used in an OLD app.
