"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I'm a little frustrated right now with the women that I like and am interested in dating.

It seems these are always the toughest ones to get ahold of on the phone to set up a date or just general flakeyness overall. I realize its just a numbers game and that at some point one will come about that I'm interested in that makes things easy but it seems those are few and far between.

Now at the same time there seem to be a few that are interested in me that always seem available, always answer the phone or call back but these are always the ones that I don't feel super attracted to.

I'm not sure if this makes sense to anybody or not and I know things will change in time. Just wondering if anybody else gets fed up with this situation or not.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

yeah but seriously why bother with the flakes dude?...why waste your precious energy and time on these types.

One day a good one will come along that has the best of both and NO flakiness.

I get frustrated when someone I really like doesn't return my call or answer promptly. I get frustrated at myself for believing such a person would like me when infact she may be leading me on or doesn't care about it. I get frustrated if I don't do anything about it such as ignoring that person. I get frustrated if I hang on to that person like she's the only woman in the world and I let my body wither away waiting for her. I get frustrated because on that very night while I was waiting on the phone or the date, I could've met 1-2 women if I instead went around bar hopping or some random single scene.

Don't let your frustration take the best of you, fight it by doing something about it.

I will bet that the ones you are interested that continue flake out on you are the ones who the entire world would consider good looking.

The ones who are seen as just average looking are the ones who are usually more normal (not completely normal) but more grounded in reality.

Remember about this too, it is only natural to believe that we all want what we can not have and to really put what we can and do have in the back of our minds and not really be thankful for such things. So that also can be playing a big role.

Why not just focus your efforts on high interest level women that you dig?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

All good points. The thing is I don't honestly think I've treated the ones I have a higher interest in any different than the ones I have a moderate interest in.

Example: Lets say you meet 10 women and get their phone #s. Now I'm sure your gonna be attracted initially at different levels so to speek with each of these women. It just seems that you can systematicly pursue each one the same but the ones you dig the most almost are always the toughest to crack.

Good advice DonJuanMonk:"Don't let your frustration take the best of you, fight it by doing something about it"
I agree. Meeting more women seems to help

Good point Beginner1 about wanting what you can't have. I think this may have a lot to do with it. It seems for me I tend to become more attracted to the girls who are more of a challange then those who make things too easy yet there seems to be a fine line to this such as pursuing a girl too far and scarring her off, oneitis, Etc.

Francisco d'Anconia: "Why not focus your efforts on high interest women that you dig?" Believe me, that is what I'm shooting for. As a cyclist I think you'll apriciate this. I've got a bike riding date this thursday with a woman that I'm digging right now. Nothing like getting your ride time in with an action date at the same time!
