some great stuff, but here's the trouble with that link:

"The first step for a heart-healthy diet is to reduce your intake of bad fats — especially saturated and trans fats. If cutting out bad fats isn't enough to reduce your cholesterol, you may want to try adding soluble fiber, nuts and fish to your diet. If you need more boost from your foods, try adding foods fortified with plant sterols."

no, the first step is to add omega-3 & fiber to your diet. the second is to increase your lean muscle mass while stripping excess bodyfat. to do this you need to keep plenty of fat & protein in your diet, while eliminating simple carbs (sugars & low fiber starches).

they're still selling the low-fat diet thing. it's utter bull****, and Senor Saskatchewan here has fallen for it, too--how wouldn't you, as dominant as this perspective is? read nina planck's "what to eat", michael pollan's "omnivore's dilemma" and/or susan allport's "the queen of fats" if you doubt me. simon can point you to other sources that challenge the so-called lipid hypothesis.
