"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hey all, Hows life?

Anyway, i have two questions. The first, which i do not know if it has been gone over before, and if it has, i apologize. My question is this:

When you are dealing with a Long Distance Relationship, what are your opinions on the amount of contact that should be involved over the phone since one lives far enough away that you can not see them on a regular basis? a few times a week?

and my second is this:
I was recently talking to a girl on the phone that i have known for a while so we have somewhat more than a friendly relationship, kissing and such.

Anyway, i call her back after her calling me and me not being available, and i learn that she had talked to another guy before i called her back.

No problem.

During the conversation though, while i was teasing and busting on her, she called me by the other guys name. Needless to say, this pissed me off some, but i didnt let it bother me. All i said was that it was "F**ked up" that she did that. She apologized. I didnt let it bother me because im confident that it was an accident and it was only because she was just talking to him before i called.

On a side note: if it is because she likes him, i have learned that he is a pathological liar and a coke-head as well, which don't help his chances at all.

Anyway, im probably overanalyzing, and i just wanted to know how to deal with it when she calls me, because after that stunt, i am not being the one to contact her first.

My thought is to just play like it doesnt bother and project even more confidence, because since it isnt really official that we are a couple, letting it bother me would show that i might care a bit more than i should, or more than she does, which if i did i would not want to admit before she does.

This is how my head has broken it down.

Any thoughts? criticisms? constructive ideas?

Much appreciated

Thanks People :)

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

some guys are just too scared to say the word

NEXT!

Although as crazy as it may seem....YOU WILL FIND OTHER GIRLS!

Obviously you and the other guy make her feel a lot alike, if she likes HIM, and you start making her feel like she 'likes' you, she has already associated that feeling with the guy, therefore she calls you by his name.

Your comment already told her that it bothered you that is y she apologized!!

Relax dude, she is not your girl - she is only one of them and you are getting too emotionall involved with one who is not committed to you and to one who you are not 'committed' to!!

Don't get emotional/jealous! Lighten up!

I'm getting very sick of members giving advice to "next" any girl they have any sort of trouble with.

The only way to learn is from conflict and difficulty, and to just "next" a girl in any situation is robbing you of perfect learning opportunities.

Walking Anomaly, the problem with long distance relationships is that you can never tell when your partner is cheating. That leads to distrust, and distrust always leads to the destruction of the relationship. It's extremely difficult to have a successful long distance relationship, and no matter how many people decide to try it, it's certainly not recommended (by me!).

Definately try to meet somebody new. You might just forget about her. :)

Hmm... You discovered she talked to another guy before you and on the phone she called you by his name? That reeks of testing you.

lol, what a weak move by her. Hope you responded correctly.

As for LDR, don't exagerate. 2 long convos a week is much. Some 5 minute talk every day or 2 is correct.
