"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Thought I would share this story.

Couple of months ago I was dating this girl. Had a cool connection, good sex etc. All of a sudden she started going cold on me - You fella's know the drill. I would ask her out to meet and she would give excuse's and flake. I give her the benefit of the doubt and asked again - same result. Never heard from her again......

I thought f.ck it. I like this girl but i'm not trying again. I let her be and went about my life and continued meeting other chlcks. I wasn't going to chase.

Fast forward three months later and out of the blue she sends me a message apologising and asking how I was. I remained cool and polite and exchanged a few messages. We agreed to meet. I told her that I could do later this week and will let her know.

One of my hobbies is portrait paintings and I'm currently in the middle of doing a commission for someone. When I'm engaged in this I have no thoughts for women whatsoever - I'm completely immersed in my hobby.

So I considered meeting this girl but my priority was finishing this commission. I didn't reply back to her.

I've checked my phone today and I've had a few missed calls and four messages from her asking why i haven't replied, 'if your gonna be like this' blah blah blah. Maybe I should be polite to tell her that I'm busy but if I'm being honest - I can't be bothered! Plus I'm meeting a cute chick on Monday.

I know it's not rock n roll but the point of the story is:

1. Always immerse yourself in activities and situations that you can control.
2. Let go of things you can't control. It's possible they will re-appear when you least expect it.
3. Never let yourself be taken for granted.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
