"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Holy *censored* - at this moment in time my life seems to be going nowhere. I desperately need some help and some advice.

A little about me...

I graduated in 2006 with a 2,1 in English Literature from Reading University.

Since then I have done a couple of stints in bars, been on the dole extensively and shortly worked for a storage company selling storage space (the WORST job I can imagine!).

I still have no idea what to do with my life, I have battled with depression, alcohol and general desperation of life.

The thought of working a job I hate makes me turn inside. The thought of living at home for much longer, jobless makes me sweat.

Just writing this I have a sick feeling in my stomach.

I have read about people on here feeling their brains are turning to mush - I feel like I am turning to mush.

I really do not know what to do - get some dead end stop gap job? Train to be a TEFL teacher?

Take an evening course in something?

I have no money, I basically live at the end of my overdraft. Christ, I feel pathetic admitting all this, even if it is on the internet.

I read a lot about people who make great changes in their lives, like they just 'wake up' one day, and start working hard. I feel like I may be one of these people - I just dont know when it's going to happen - christ I hope it happens. I dont know why, but I seem incapable of making any decisions on what im doing or where im going. I start thinking about it all and it just gets too much for me.

Does anybody have any advice for me? I would greatly appreciate talking this out.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

hey man, theres a lot of guys in your position. I am one of them. I am working my way out of my mess.

How about you write down a list on all the changes you want in your life. And then make a list step by step on how you would achieve these goals. And then follow it?

What I have discovered so far that big changes don't happen instantly. Changes are gradual. First you have to force yourself, then it becomes natural.

Honestly I am in a similiar boat, 5 years ago my life was incredible, now it is stress and worry laden and not very fun.

You need a focus in which career direction you want to move. Why did you do the english literature program to begin with?

Ask yourself 1. What do I love doing? 2. what am I good at doing?

perhaps writing? maybe teaching english?

If there is something you love doign and something you are good at doing then that should be your career!

Also maybe perform a SWOT Analysis of your life. Google 'SWOT' Analysis to learn what it is about (nothing complicated).

Firstly, reduce the drinking alcohol and drugs definitely causes depression. You may be suffering from a mild depression also, perhaps go to your doctor and get him to refer you to a psych.

Your not the only one, just stay positive and fight it.

Maybe get a loan, and get your Master's?

Maybe you could teach using your English degree or start writing articles/blogging.

Best of luck to you and your happiness.

GOLD.

Could not have said it better myself.

You need to firstly know yourself and know a basic direction you want to take in your life. What area (general) do you want to work in. How will you get there? What are your hobbies?

The second part is even more important. Changes are gradual, you feel like you want to just change, and do it now, right? Success follows experience. You have to realise you are in your 20s and now is the time to get started, move towards where you want to be, even if you are not sure exactly which job you want, at least move towards the general direction. Eventually, if you put in the effort and follow some kind of a plan, you will get there.

Good luck.

So I'm basically paying to give you dole money because you don't want to work a job you hate?
You either find the determination to get or work towards a job you'd like, improve your physique and improve your social skills or you keep getting the same results.
Do it.

Seriously, people are sitting about doing nothing thinking one day they'll wake up and suddenly get the balls to change things, or maybe if they read this article or listen to this audiobook etc
It's only going to happen if you make it happen.
