Last time I checked I was 1.72m / 67kg
I've been using dumbells for a couple of months now, of course I didn't knew anything so I barely trained my legs...
Is it possible to get big with dumbells only?
Right now I got a couple of dumbells of only 15lbs...I have read that the most important parts I should exercise are legs, back and chest...
Should I get heavier dumbells?
I've started to eat more and I'm noticing my belly is getting some fat...
should I do cardio or stick to lifting?
Any excersives I can do that doesn't require any equipment?

No, you cannot get big with only dumbells. If you want to put on mass you need to do an entire body workout with a variety of exercises. I suggest you do some research because there's no way anyone could catch you up to speed in this one thread.

15lbs? That's whack!!

That's what I use to do lateral raises with.

I use dumbells up to 70lbs-80lbs in weight for exercises... and I'm not even that big!!!

You need heavier ones. 15 wont do.

I also reccomend a simple bench, a barbell and about 300lbs of plates.

That will cover pretty much all of your body if you know what exercises to do.



Start doing some research like the above poster said. There's too much for you to catch up on. Do that, then come back with questions.

Yes, the most important things to exercise are legs, chest and back. Accordingly, the most important exercises are the squat, bench and deadlift.

Dumbells will help you gain some size in your arms, shoulders, and possibly chest, but it will be very difficult to gain size in your back or legs using just those. Barbells and on an occasion, machines, have their place in workouts. Mixing all three (relying mainly on free weight) will provide the best benefits.

Start off making some goals. write down what you want to accomplish, it will help.

dumbbells alone will not get you big at all

We didn't say that you can't get big with dumbbells. We said that you can't get big with 15 lbs dumbbells

OK...you can get big with dumbells (NOT 15 lb ones), but it's MUCH easier with a bar for squats, deads, and bench :rolleyes:

well, he mentioned he only has 15 lbs dumbbells, so shiftkey and don juan jr. probably weren't referring to 90lbs ones...

if you had an entire dumbell set 15.20.25.30.35.40.45.50 etc... to increase the weight as you get stronger, you could get big. but the guy only has 15 lbs dumbbells

I still maintain that it will be nearly impossible to "get big" with dumbells. Sure, you'll gain some pretty good upper body size, but your legs will lack. Unless you can hold on to dumbells that weigh a couple hundred pounds a piece, and squat with them, your leg development will fall behind


Same with deadlifts. I know for a fact, that without a barbell, I wouldn't be able to deadlift weight heavy enough to do anything other than bore me.
