For the past two years I've struggled trying to change my sleep schedule to that of the normal person (sleeping from 10-12 whereas I usually slept at 4-6). I've tried every single method in the book, weed, tylenol PM, drinking warm milk, eating lots of carbs, exhausting my body through exercise, not sleeping for an entire night to reset my schedule, etc. I didn't like the first two techniques as I didn't want to rely on drugs, and I've heard it was unhealthy to intake any food before going to sleep as it'll create activity in the brain when you sleep, raising the chances of nightmares. Exhausting myself every day didn't work because doing that everyday would just kill me, and no matter how many sleepless nights I endured, I was still sleeping at 4am.

Then I tried out this really REALLY simple technique that requires no intake of any substances where I'm now regularly sleeping at a normal time. And that is meditating before going to sleep. It only takes 5 to 10 minutes to do and I sleep easily as if I just popped a sleeping pill (same effects, and you save your liver). The technique I use is I close my eyes, breathe in deeply for 2 seconds, hold it in for 5 seconds, and then exhale for 4 seconds. Rinse and repeat for 5 to 10 minutes. It is so easy, sometimes I even listen to an audiobook while I'm doing this. Now I can sleep at will. I don't understand the whole physiology for this reasoning, but it personally works for me.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I should try that. Even though I'm normally tired around 11, it usually takes me 30 min to an hour to actually fall asleep. Then there is no guarantee that I'll actually stay asleep.

Thanks for the tip.

Work out? Nah man, that wakes you up, its science!!

But de-stress mate and get into a routine!! did you mean 10-12 hours sleep???

If so that's too much you wanna aim for around 8 hrs, I sleep 6-7 hours but I'm used to it and I'm fine.

Dont do anything that will keep your mind active, even watchin telly can make your brain activity such, it will not rest.. Meditation works a treat, if you listen to a meditation track to the music is supposed to activate your alpha wave patterns which make you sleep!

Take Zinc tablets.. of Gaba that helps you sleep and makes you dream like a mother*****!

Eat something with Trypothan in it, cheese, warm milk, even turkey..which is why everyones sleeps after all the turkey at xmas :)

I've also heard of counting backward from 300

Rubbing one out also works!

I intentionally only sleep 4-6 hours a night and at varying times. One of my mentors showed me how to control my sleep a very long time ago. By reducing your breathing you can pretty much knock yourself out. The lack of 02 in your blood stream causes you to essentially pass out. Ever hear about a kid saying he'll hold his breath till he's blue in the face until he get's what he wants from mom and dad? Smart parents let them so it shuts them the f*ck up and they go to sleep on the floor.

I also do this on any long trips. Plane flights cross country, no problem. Train rides, buss trips...I don't sleep on road trips because I have shady friends who'll draw on your face or something childish like that. Anyway it's a neat trick to get you to sleep when you need it if you have sleeping issues.

I'll give that breathing trick a try. I have horrible problems with sleep. Namely I sleep lightly and wake up multiple times through the night. I don't even remember the last time I slept a full night straight through.

I took ambien and regular sleeping pills at one point. I believe it made permanent damage to my vision because I remember not long after that, I had problems seeing trails behind moving objects, like someone on LSD. I've just gotten used to it at this point.

Carbs is a huge mistake. It will wake you up because your fueling your body and preparing it for activity.

If you want better sleep you need to consume a high amount of protein and essential fatty acids with a very small amount or carbs.

example: Steak and eggs 2 different types of veggies, whey protein in milk and fish oil pills.

The possibility of nightmares is true because it was common for me for about a week or so but your body will adjust and utilizes the nutrients it has. You will wake up from deep sleep feeling completely rested. You must only consume quality foods though. No pizza or fried meals or anything processed and definitely NO sugar or high carb foods.
