Money, a nice car, property, a good job and a nice coin collection aren't going to bring you happiness if you don't have members of the opposite sex to connect with.
True happiness comes from within ... if you're an unhappy guy who thinks money, property or a woman will make you happy, you might get a quick jolt when you obtain those, but then you'll return to the baseline of unhappiness.
If you don't have any connections with a woman you want to get to know better, your soul feels empty.
If that's the case, then you're giving off needy vibes to the woman and the relationship will suck. Now, if you feel complete by yourself but want a woman to explore further states of life and have new adventures, then that's a completely different vibe.
I just think we are deluding ourselves saying it doesn't matter if you have a woman or not and just focus on yourself, blah, blah.
If you don't focus on yourself and look for a woman to save you from your miserable life, a surrogate mommy, then you're in a bad spot. But if you focus to improve your life and on this journey you meet a woman and invite her to come along with you, in all likelihood it will be fun and exciting.
