My advice to you is go for the degree in a public institution. Engineering in any discipline will help. Many times, you will end up just being a project manager. If you cannot afford a Bachelor, take the associates. Alternatively, try welding and become certified. Then, become project manager. Fabrication and manufacturing jobs pay. Just major in a discipline easy to you. Don't try to be a rocket scientist.
