guys I understand that this is a movie but too many stories I've heard here tell me that this is extremely accurate. Hypergamy, extreme betatude and bpd traits are at their extreme. I'll never get married, honestly I wouldn't have been able to see it coming if I had been in the guy's shoes. It's sad but there's no point to bet your mental sanity and half of your assets for this.

Saw the movie with my then wife in a theater. Didn't care for it then, but I'm curious about watching it now in retrospect. I vaguely remember it, but I do remember just feeling so bad for the guy, especially when he attempts to rekindle things in that lousy hotel and the wife is just not into it. Depressing movie.

I would rate it 3/5 just for the purpose that this actually happens. Dean is a bit of an AFC ignoring red flags beforehand and engaging arguments but his wife is also a bit not there in the head. I wish it show cased on how their marriage BEGAN to fall apart rather than the middle.
