My last thread about LeAnn Rimes brought up an interesting response in that the author dumped his g/f after she got too fat, and he got shamed for it. I wonder if anyone has been in that position.

I've never dumped a woman (although for one, I put myself into the position of her wanting to dump me, which was fine by me!) as I seem to be pretty good at separating the "fat chick who is temporarily skinny" from the real non-fat women. (Of course since there are so many whales in the good ole USA, I haven't dated a woman there in 15 years!)

I have a friend who dumped his g/f-wife of 26 years, about 15 years after she crossed the too-fat threshold (she's up to about 260# in a 5'6" frame), and he was shamed mercilessly by his family for it (it didn't help that the woman was sweet, albeit a bit of a pain because of her ditsyness.) He tried to get her interested in exercise and dieting, but she said had no "willpower". He now runs marathons with his new wife, a 40-something woman (mother of a teenager) who manages to stay at 5'7", 115# (and a solid wiring frame at that!)

There need to be limits as to how much she can change before it is an issue - and you MUST tell her this

"do i look fat in these pants" is really "you still find me attractive, even if Im gaining weight, right?"

thats when you tell her "I'd love you in these more" as you get a more expensive slimmer ones :D

But it has to be mutual.. I will try to stay in shape my whole life.. I want a girl who does the same

That's just false advertisement. You should be able to sue them for this kind of thing. And shaming tactics only hurt you if you let it.

Ask yourself this. How many women have been shamed for dumping their husbands after they got lipo, hit the gym, got a new wardrobe, fake tits etc?

Or how many women have been shamed for dumping their husband for a richer man?

Or how many women have been shamed for leaving a man after he's lost his job?

How many women do you know have been shamed for leaving because there wasn't a "spark" anymore? (the honeymoon phase was over)

Apparently not to many that I know. In fact I've heard other women to "leave him girl, he's no good!".

As a man you are supposed to just be happy to serve at her majesties pleasure. God forbid you have standards and stick to them.

Funny,
Right in the middle of this thread is a ad with Jillian Michaels for weight loss....
Ok my take on this is ALWAYS date a chick that's into fitness. One that's about fitness with or without guys in her life. That's always a good start. That way she's already predisposed to staying thin. Also you yourself have to be into fitness. During the natural course of the relationship you will then feel mutually encouraged to stay in shape. My last girlfriend was into going to the gym, unfortunately she was also a junk food addict....weird I know, but I KNEW that if the gym stopped she'd pack on weight. There were other issues, but getting big in the A$$ was a factor with me dumping her. Do I feel bad? NO! She has attempted to shame me a couple times in some text messages. Now that I've come out of my former AFC self they've bounced off my kevlar.
Build yourself, respect your body, take care of your health and the fat chicks will basically be invisible to you.....there shaming BS as well.

Remember, if you do fat chicks, make sure to strap a board to your a$$ to keep from falling in.

I am a very odd duck in that I have found some fat women to be extremely attractive, and then dated thin model types next. There is just no telling. There was someone in town until a few months ago and she was plain and fat, but she spun my propeller, so...

I live in Asia now, and all women here are very very thin by US and UK standards. A perfect BMI is UNDER 17 for all single women AND men until they find the future spouse at 25. All Americans look fat to them. ALL.

There are very few fat women here. Very few.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
