If so, what effects (besides becoming more limber) did it have on your body ? Fat loss ? Strength gain ?

I sweat enough during regular yoga. if I tried Bikram ('hot') yoga I'd probably dry up.

As a fellow martial artist, I would recommend you at least try it. I go once a week to relax my body and mind after a hard week of training. Helps me recover and prep for the next week's load. Because I train hard (id like to think) the strength gains have been minimal. I'm lean as it is, but the workout definitely helps with keeping the weight off. 500 kcal or whatever it is will burn something.

A girl from work wanted me to go try it with her. I went the one time. I sweat a lot, lasted the whole class, and did basically all the movements. I think I'll stick to my weight lifting / running routine though.

Well I have have not heard about hot yoga earlier . Is it a type of conventional Yoga exercise that we do or It is different from Yoga Exercise ? . I am little bit confused about this term .
I believe the discipline is called Bikram yoga. It's yoga exercises done in a room that is heated to over 105 degrees F. The yoga poses are done one after the other with no break apart from the participants being allowed to drink water. Hell of a workout from what I hear.
