I get scattered and confused infos about the situation in the "self controlled area" in Seattle where the protesters managed to seize control of certain blocks.

Some reports a paradise of joy and shared goods while others talk about armed gangs controlling the people and the food supplies within.
Needless to say that mainstream media in Europea are totally unreliable so I dont even bother to listen at them.

First of all, is it true that they have a government free area where to rule themselves?

Yes, a group of protesters have taken over a six block area in downtown Seattle. It includes a police precinct that the mayor forced the police to abandon to the protesters. They've surrounded it with barricades that I presume they found in the city building. The Seattle mayor apparently thinks it's cute what they're doing, and is describing it as a hippie commune love in block party. Others see it as anarchy and as interfering with day to day life in the city.

I tend to see it as the latter, but I wonder how they are going to get them out of there (if they ever do). If the government goes in to flush them out, the mainstream media is probably going to portray it as violence against peaceful protesters. Worst case scenario is you end up with some sort of Waco situation.

One thing I'm not clear about, is whether or not there are "civilian" people living in this area, who are basically at the mercy of the people running this autonomous zone. If there are, they could end up as hostages if things turn ugly.

I think it's kind of cool, the United States really needs an outsider movement like this...something completely different from what we have now.

But next time it should be better prepared. Show that a better world is possible...by being better.

Please let me know if you find out about local citizens still leaving in that area, its interesting and alarming at the same time.

Antifastan is a real thing. The mayor allowed it to happen and the state governor played stupid and said he didn't know anything about it.

I think that they are allowing this on purpose so they can point at Trump and sputter and call him a nazi dictator when he inevitably calls to have them removed, which he already did. And the media will lie about it.

I feel really bad for anyone who lives in there. And yes there are people there, that area is residential. I heard that there have already been altercations between the occupiers and the residents in that area. There are also reports of armed people patrolling the border and a defacto warlord.

They ran out of food already and were asking for vegan meat alternatives like the good little p*ssies they are.

This isn't the first time this has happened. There is a place in southern seattle that was occupied a few decades ago and it got legitimized to a real thing, which means it's just a named building with a foundation operating in it now.

I think it's kind of cool, the United States really needs an outsider movement like this...something completely different from what we have now.

The kind of system these people produce is not better, if you live under them, you live under their whim, not laws. Revolutions are led by morons and backed by intellectual idiots who are the first ones to get a bullet when the revolution starts.

Seattle PD looks like they may be in the process of reclaiming the PD..... If they don't establish order it will disrupt the tax revenue which Democrats LOVE..... they don't care about helping the local residents, until it disrupts taxation.......

You must be very young and/or naiive to think what's going on in Seattle is cool.

Black Lives Matter is now saying that that zone in Seattle is hijacking their message.

Interesting that BLM couldn't give a rip about the thousands murdered on black on black crime. They only care when a white kills a black.

Also, did you know in 2018, FBI statistics show officers killed 19 unarmed white men compared to 9 unarmed black men? Look it up.

In the most recent case with George Floyd, did you know there was a black officer present that did not intervene in the killing of Floyd? Along with two other non white officers?

I heard the mayor had portapotties dropped off for them. Don't all those buildings have toilets?
If I was in charge, the first thing I would do is cut off all electricity to the area.
I really wonder about the future of the US with leaders like this mayor. I swear, if an enemy wanted to invade, all they'd have to do is walk up to one of these big city mayors and they would just hand them over the keys.

A lot of disjointedness to unpack here.

1. I'm 39, not too young, not too old. But old enough to know that America needs a lot of push back to right the ship. I admire the CHAZ effort if not actually the deed. I think any real protest movement should show they can do things better in their own communities and enact real change. CHAZ isn't that but I hope the next time around people do better.

2. They are. Whitey is absolutely ruining this protest along with thugs.

3. Black Lives Matter does care about "black on black crime." Luckily for the victims so does the police. Unfortunately the police do not care about Black men and women murdered by police.

4. I did...and it is down from previous years, possibly because of advocacy of BLM. Black folks are still disproportionately murdered by police though. But that said, shouldn't White people be all for anti-police brutality as well? As you point out, we're being hit too, the more rural and red state the better.

5. One other non-White officer, not two. It was still murder though, a 50% non-White contingent hardly nullifies that.

Watch them. Their community is going to go to sh!t and implode when the people that live there get tired of them. "I hope next time they do better" is the living cry of failed ideologies. Right along up there with "That wasn't real socialism".

As for the rest of your post. The separation of everything along racial lines IS the racism problem in this country. Is there racism, yes. But I don't believe for a moment that race is anywhere near as big a problem as the far left and media would have you think it is. They just lie and blow what there is way out of proportion so they can point and scream racist at anyone that disagrees with their delusional narrative, but in reality it's them that have the racist views

To state something like this means you must not been outside of ur state nor ur country.

You have not seen the world nor experienced it and yet here u r preaching.

In any country, when u r a minority, you will be discriminated on, it then follows on how much discrimination you'll face per that society's level of fear.

The more fear or incapability a person has the more he will discriminate against another race.

If u r great in almost everything, that means u r at the top of the food chain, then minorities or others just turns into ONE of the many resource for YOU - where is the fear then when everything could be turned into a profit ?

See the difference between the mindset of a winner and a loser?

No. Wrong. I'm a minority and an immigrant. I've lived on three continents and I've seen more of the world than most people have. The world is a melting pot full of cultures that hate each other and are far more barbaric than some klansmen who cower behind masks. The rwandan genocide comes to mind. The US is among the best places to be if you're a minority. I've also lived in culturally homogeneous countries where you get discriminated against for acting and/or sounding poor, if it ain't one thing it's another.

According to the Oppression Olympics, I should see discrimination, but I've only really experienced it once at the hands of a guy who I didn't think was worth sh!t anyway so I didn't care if he said something racist. It was par for the course. I can tick a box on an employment form that can theoretically give me an edge over someone more qualified if the company is woke. Do I do it, yes. Is it fair, NO.

The problem isn't racism now, the problem is malevolent people crying racist when there isn't any just to slander their political opponents and looking like idiots in the process. People have repeatedly call Ben Shapiro a neo-nazi, despite the fact that he's a jew. The people that do this polarize the country even more by doing so, and it doesn't help that the media are happy to sell you fake outrage for your clicks.

And don't forget about good ol Jussie Smollett who made up some more fake racism to try and get more attention and money. Or the girl that lied about some guy pulling a knife on her after Trump won because she was wearing a head scarf.

People do not exist in a vacuum. Everyone is a resource for everyone else. Without them, without all of us, we cannot succeed. The fact that society works at all is astounding.

It's a victim mentality that coincides with a decline in father figures.

Something like 70% of black Americans are born out of wedlock.

White people divorce rates in the states, while better, have also seen a drastic incline. I believe fathers are crucial.

The gradual moral degradation, whether you agree with it or not, has coincided with crime rates going up, divorce rates, child molestation etc.

I've wondered about this for the past week or so.

If you don't only control for socioeconomic factors, but you also control for broken homes on top of that, will blacks still be overrepresented in violent crime and other negatives like high school dropouts? or do broken homes explain what "socioeconomics" doesn't. Or do you still need to add another, some kind of cultural factor like gangsta culture? I don't know, but I've been wondering.

I'm not just talking abt blacks in America, I'm looking at it from a global perspective - racism and the roots of it, some of it is justified (in my opinion) and condoned by governments globally.

Broken homes explain a lot of it, especially in places like Chicago, with gang murder rates through the roof.

But also being raised on welfare, and feeling like you have no control over your future.

Racism exists in every country. I think it's natural, for the most part. You root for people that look and sound like you.

Is it a bad thing, of course, but I don't think there is an answer.
