Master Don Juan
Yeah I should've been clearer. Unwittingly I may have done my calculations off 0% bf (too tired to think about whether I did or not). But the point I wanted to make was that the vast majority of men will be in the 130, 140, 150 and 160 pound ranges when they get down to 10% bf without training. I really just wanted to warn that in my experience, many men have a tendency to underestimate their bf%. As well as to fall for the muscle lies of athletes/fitness models/bodybuilders/permabulkers/local pinners/etc. that "real men" are so and so big because they want to cover up both their inward delusions and outward lies.
Better for him to start adding muscle mass and readjust from a calorie deficit to an intake slightly more than maintenance when he is surely at 10%, rather than thinking he is but is really 15 or 16%.
And also that even "mutant freaks" are not as naturally different from other humans as their steroid-sponsors want us to believe - we simply don't vary that much. You're not going to see a lean (10% bf) man who doesn't train or take steroids at 6'1 weigh in the 180 or even 170 pound range. I know I say this stuff about steroids a lot, but it makes my blood boil when people think guys anywhere from the size of brock lesnar and above to lazar angelov and mike tyson to frank zane etc. are natural because they've been suckered in by lie or willing worship.
I haven't really done any research on muscle loss while dieting, so I can't comment on that.
All right, my input so far is done I think. Again just wanted to add a perspective of clarity based on what I've researched. I hope you get this ball rolling well guru.
