How many of you actually play out and practice a lot?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I play the guitar for like one hour a day... I love playing Coldplay songs, and now, I know all the Coldplay songs' guitar solos. They're not so hard, though, but as I love Coldplay's music, i like playing their songs. The solos in Shiver, Moses, Talk and Got Put A Smile Upon Your Face are maybe the hardest ones to play, but I play them all, without any problems.
I also know a couple of Guns'n Roses solos, like the solos in Estranged and of course Sweet Child Of Mine. And there's a lot of Queen songs in which there are cool solos to play. The solo in Let Me Live (from the Made In Heaven album) for example, is a really nice one to play.

Like half the people I know can play Time Of Your Life. So, at least here, it's nothing special. I don't see any of them with any chicks around them.

Songs that sound good and look hard to play are the way to go ;)

Master freestyle's and you're in.

I write a lot of my own music, and i've come across a lot of really basic chord progressions (C Am F G for example) that are really easy to just throw words into. I'll start off with some little intro i've written then go into simple stuff like that but sing about the girl who's right in front of me...it takes some wit and quick thinking, but if you can recall some facts about her and throw them in the song, even if it's a little off, just make it rhyme and she'll love it.

I'd say at least original tunes is the best....everyone plays other people's music and at least around here, everyone knows the crappy songs that everyone always plays....so the only way to get anywhere is to be original.

I'm just picking up guitar, a couple of my friends can totally rock out and inspired me to finnally pick it up. I can play a lot of Nirvana stuff and am trying to learn a few kick ass solos. Learn guitar because you want to, else finding the motivation is going to be hard.

Edit: I can play the theme to Super Mario, while its not quite sexy it is pretty cool.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

come on guys, how many girls appreciate that kind of music? not many. Its good music...but chicks don't see that.
now pop-punk like Greenday, chicks appreciate. They eat that sh!t up. If your playing a song specifically to a girl, I'm gonna say that accoustic is the way to go as well[unless she -likes- electric].
just my opinions.

Exactly. There have been way too many suggestions that have been metal and hard rock songs, and while girls will definitely see you as talented if you play those songs for them, they won't adore you like they will if you play a softer, more romantic song. Go with acoustic.

Void and Dimebag had the best suggestions so far.

Here's the best IMO (a few have already been mentioned):

Wonderwall- Oasis
Taylor- Jack Johnson
Bubbletoes- Jack Johnson (pretty much any Jack is good)
Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton
Blackbird- The Beatles
Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd
pretty much any John Mayer

and the best one: Crash- Dave Matthews Band. Girls will melt when they here you play that song, and it's not that difficult.

I play an Agile AL-2800 Les Paul through a Peavey XXX head and cab or a Roland Cube.
The bands you mention use humbucker pickups, they do make humbuckers that fit into a single coil slot though, not sure the exact make but Seymour Duncan makes them.
