"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Disclaimer:
************
I do not always advocate group theory as commonly defined in "the community". There are many times, yes also in bars/clubs, when I feel men would have more success (in terms of actually gettting the girl) focusing on *one girl* they actually want right from the first word. However, group theory, used properly, is very effective in the right situation. The usege or appropriateness is beyond the scope of this post which is solely aimed at looking how conformity affects us. This is solely philosophical in nature, and is not intended to be a complete dissection of any process
***********

I am going to point out through some classic studies how conformity tends to affect people. The point of this is to understand that people tend to change their perceptions, opinions, or behaviors in ways that are consistent with group norms.

The question then becomes: Is the group norm to accept you as a cool guy or shun you as an annoyance? Because if either of these appears to occur without exception, chances are that people will change to remain consistent with the rest of their peer group.

Is there any evidence for this?

Sherif's autokinetic effect:
People are first tested to see what answer they will give. People are then tested in groups. People are finally tested alone again.
The results? When alone people give individual answers as we would normally expect. In groups people tend to converge on a normative value typical to that group, their answers become consistent with the group's average. Even when removed from the group people continue to give estimates consistent with the group norm. Once developed, the norm persists beyond the immediate situation.

Asch minority influence effects
.
People were tested on a simple line task. They were first tested alone. They were later put into a group of people who unanimously gave the wrong answers.
The resullts? Less than 4% of people gave an incorrect answer when tested alone. When they were then put into a group of unanimous people giving the wrong answer around 1/3 gave the wrong answer also even though they clearly knew the correct answer. It only takes a group of about 4 people to achieve this level. Even with just 2 people the results are up to 20%. BUT If there is even a single dissenter, the results plumet down to around 10%. The most important thing about this study isn't that people will often adopt the group's answer, but that even a single dissenter can totally kill the conformity effect.

Mosocovici on minority influence
Studies done on if minority can influence a majority opinion.
Results? He found that a consistent minority can influence the majority, but an inconsistent minority doesn't do much better than the control. So minority can influence the majority, but only if they are consistent.

How in the hell does this apply to seduction?

More disclaimers: Generalizability is of course not proven by these studies, and the interested person can search for more specific studies. However, here is how I think this applies.

Asch's study showed even a single dissenter can remove conformity effects. That means if even one chic in the group is really into a guy, the others are less likely to persist in not liking him.

Sherif's study shows that people do look to others in forming their opinions, which means if lots of people in a group like a person then it is more likely for other individuals in that group to change their perceptions to be consistent and like that person also. It also suggests that the adopted opinion will remain consistent even when the group is removed and you are alone with a woman.

Mosocovici showed that minority influence is only really strong when it is consistent, that means even if a person in the group doesn't like someone that opinion would have to be shown consistently in order to have any real influence. If the person is at any time smiling, laughing, or showing other signs of inconsistency with this opinion (of not liking) then it should not be effective

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

It relates to social proof, and also a quote from The Game, Mystery I think:

"Lead the men, and you will lead the women."

Being a leader shows that the group has accepted you, making that choice easier for a woman to make.

since conformity kept humans alive thousands of years ago, It can only make sense why these attributes are hardwired into the average person. Live together, die alone.

“The 22 Rules That Turned Me From Invisible to Irresistible With Women… Starting Tonight”

You can skip the expensive cars, the fancy clothes, and the endless gym selfies. Completely unnecessary.

I used to freeze the second a beautiful woman looked my way. Frustrated. Awkward. Watching other guys walk away with the girl while I stood there tongue-tied.

Then I discovered 22 simple rules that rewired my entire dating life. The anxiety vanished. Conversations flowed effortlessly. Women started chasing me for a change.

These rules trigger a woman's subconscious attraction switches. And you can start using them tonight.

I strongly agree that a consistent minority can influence the majority.

This is REALLY interesting... sorry for my enthusiasm, but I've always been a fan of group-theory and I recently just got out of an introductory class on this and it whetted my appetite for it, we didn't learn this stuff !!

I've seen this countless times in real-life, in class no one is participating in lecture and then I initiate and everyone all of a sudden has opinions ! In the club, group of women won't dance with guys until one girl decides to break the conformity... I find it funny that I try to dance with a female out of a group, get denied, but once a guy breaks the circle, I come back to the same girl and she's throwing her ass into me... very hilarioius...

Anyway a few questions...

I recently was at a club and there was a group of about 7 people, 2 guys and 5 girls. I got in with one female and started dancing and talking with her, she really liked me, but her group hated me for some reason. Eventho this girl was REALLY into me all night, persistent bad feelings from the friends eventually pulled this girl away from me... wats ur analaysis of that ??

Finally, working off the theory it only takes one dissenter to break the conformity, how to use this on group approaches ?? How do you create the one dissenter when opening a group-set ?? Your opinons ??

Most of these things fall under the field of social psychology. You can pickup a text book, but a class is more ideal because you will have someone who has a PhD in the field interpreting the text for you and reciting studies that may not be listed in the book. It may be possible to watch some lectures online, I have heard that some Universities may allow classes to be audited online for free now.

In regards to being the one who breaks conformity in a good way, there is something more to it. To be the guy who busts a move when all other guys stall is to be the guy who proves he can tolerate a lot of social pressure and excel. This is a very powerful DHV. It shows you have strong cognitive skills and the ability to be a leader.

Just imagine all the guys are standing around not dancing or doing karaoke and you give a great performance (or even just seem comfortable). Women understand social pressure very well, and they know a man who can do this will get laid a lot.

In regards to the single dissenter, of course, you still want to create social proof by way of majority. If you have enough going with a girl she will ignore her friends. Just like they sometimes ignore their friends and family and stay with a guy they all hate due to investment, infatuation, etc. But I wouldn't want to be ass-kisser or too reactive to win over the friends either. The way I see it I am a man of great abundance, and as such if I am not judgemental no one else should be either.

On the other side of this, if there is a single dissenter *not into you* it's easy to make her appear inconsistent. This carries some risk. If you give her something she can turn down, it shows you didn't have compliance. So if you know she's a problem, then you should not giver her the option to say no such as "give me your hands". It would be much better in that case to do something that is harder to turn down like quickly asking her to hold something while continuing your story or whatever.

If you are really sneaky you will bait a friend into dragging her into something. Thus, you gain compliance but in order to reject it she would have to decline her friend and risk some negative social feedback. If she plays along, you've shown she's inconsistent. If she doesn't and she's not really cohesive with the group, they may all turn on her and treat her as someone who's brining negative energy to the group. There are a lot of other ways to handle this problem, but the gist is always the same we should only need to make her appear inconsistent to all but totally eliminate her negative influence on the others.

All of this is in general and there are going to be lots of cases where it doesn't end up mattering. That's why I think it's good to try lots of different kinds of approaches, and sometimes I am surprised by how easily I get a great connection with a hawtie or a hawtie and all her friends. I actually have the worst results with UGs. I rarely ever approach UGs unless I read the vibe that they are friendly. If you approach UGs and you are above a 7 or a cool guy, then you will probably get some ****ed up results at times. I've also found some "feels" of venues are just more reliable for me than others, maybe this is the whole "world is your mirror" thing.

I thought the generalization regarding chicks was obvious:

When you and your wings are working a set, it doesn't matter how well the majority of HBs are responding. One single fat ugly c*ck block who's not defused will ruin all chances for anything further with the whole set. The c*ck block is always consistent, because she knows that she isn't getting anything.
