Guy is sick and crazy. It be interesting to hear why he did it. Only 2nd degree murder for that crime? How come? How come it's not 1st degree?

By the way nigga, I don't see you on Skype anymore. It's like you gone missing after the brake up and whoring for a month, lol.

Agreed. It's a shame how selfish and fearful some people can get

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

selfish has nothing to do with it. bottom line is most people have no clue how to fight, even if it's just fists they'll still get their ass whooped. now this guy had a weapon. those people would have gotten injured pretty bad. they're actually pretty lucky this guy was nuts and chose to keep stabbing the same guy over and over and ignore them. otherwise you'd have a stabbing spree where a ton of people die, like what's going on in japan

don't underestimate knives. unless you have a weapon or trained in something like krav maga, you're not gonna know what to do if someone comes at you with a knife. if I try to stab you and miss because you tried to block, I'll either filet your forearm (you're done) or I'll slice up your arm (after a few slices you can't move your arm anymore and are done)

if you can't fight and you're in danger, the best defense is always the nike defense - aka run away

i understand not everyone is trained to fight but there were 37 people on that bus, you dont need 37 people to disarm one guy with a knife, 2 people could have done the job. This guy was too busy chopping some innocent guys head off, if a couple people atacked him and got a hold of his body and hand, he wouldnt know wtf hit him until its too late, and the victim could have been saved, or at the very least he would still have his head on his body...

ready123's right all the way. They did a study where a person was being beaten/robbed and most people chose to ignore it instead of help out since a lot of people do fear for their safety. You could argue that they were selfish, but a lot of people just freeze up in these crisis situations since they don't know how to deal with it.

And yeah, even an MMA guy would think twice about stopping a maniac with a knife.

And also I'll tell you a true story that happened 1 yr ago. There was a trendy lounge which a lot of upper-class patrons go to and it so happens only one person decided to go there and whip out a gun. One of the guys in the room decided to be a hero and rushed the guy with the gun and this "hero" ended up with 4 gunshots in him and a funeral.

Sometimes the best way is to ignore the instinct to immediately help and instead call the authorities or just get away as fast as possible. Hell, a lot of people die everyday, and the best thing to do is ensure your safety first.

thats incredibly stupid though, rushing a guy with a gun is the dumbest thing you could possibly do... if your getting rushed and you have a knife, what do u do? either throw it or try to fend them off with it, all im trying to say is that if a few ppl made a plan early on they could have possibly changed the situation. once everyone was at the front of the bus they then decided to make a plan but the dudes head was cut off by then...and the attacker was waving it around like a prize

if 1 person from the front and behind seats attacked him no doubt the situation would have changed, it just pisses me off that the problem could have been taken care of so easily yet no one acted on it

What a tragic story.

Even if they knew each other, that's no way for a young kid to die like that.

This is why I'm glad capital punishment exists and is legal.

I'm actually surprised that guy didn't get his ass kicked.. Where I live, I'm proud to say that if some guy was getting attacked like that on a public bus, the guy with the knife would have been beaten to death by roughly 15 people. It doesn't take much to grab a guy's forearm and kick him in the nuts.

From what I've heard it was night and the passangers were asleep, so by the time people found out that this was happening the victim was already probably dead and he would just be a threat to other passangers. They did the right thing by leaving and no more people were killed.

The suspect worked at Edmonton Sun and was delivering papers. He claimed he wanted to go to Winipeg for a job interview. He told his wife a different story, that he wanted to go there to deal with some family matter. He didn't pick up his July paycheque from the newspaper and went on that bus, then this happened. No previous criminal record. This guy doesn't fit into any stereotypical profile of a killer other than having a McJob at 40 years old. I cant figure out a motive for this unless he was into some dark stuff and just decided to pick on someone he felt was not going to fight back.

The victim was into carnival and enjoyed travelling and never been in a fight in his life. He has a great circle of friends that are all standing up for him here, and doesn't appear to have done anything to have provoked this attack. I've read a report here in Toronto of a guy saying 'hi' to a stranger on a bus then getting stabbed for it. Well, here is a guy that didn't say anything, and was minding his own business and he got picked on...so in either case you cant win with a psycopath.

There is no reason for that 40 year old to go that far on a 22 year old unless he was into something dark like the occult or devil-stuff and just got possessed and lost his inhibitions. People may appear to have normal lives (other than this guy having a Mcjob), but you don't know if they are secretly watching torture porn or some other sick stuff, or are just sadistical barbarians, or what they are into. I know you cant support a family and house and food on McJobs like that -- and I don't know how far to speculate on that.

I posted this link yesterday when I first read it on AOL news in the thread Article: Ex-Astronaut: Aliens Are Real and Government Knows It number 19 post.

I felt if people want to believe in aliens from another planet maybe this sick bastard on this bus is one of them and is here with us... in jest of coarse.

The bastard shouldn't have been arrested he should have been shot dead on the bus.. now Canada's gotta put up with this piece of crap for a human.

Now I am sure there will be some girl who will fall in love with this sick bastard and in time we'll get to see pictures of her trying to get his release from prison so she can have his babies.

I doubt anyone knew each other on that bus, and if they did, it was probably only like 1 other person, so I really doubt that a half decent plan could have been organized in such a small time span in a chaotic environment. And no it's really not that easy to change a situation like this in a normal human perspective. What do you think the guy would have done if he was aware that various people were rushing him? He is the one with the most power simply because he had a knife and would have surely taken down a couple of people dead or severely injured. The large group of people would have won for sure, however, no one is going to want to be the hero and die or get severely injured in that situation, especially for a guy they don't know. You only see that in movies. Plus, it was a bus. The advantage goes to the stabber because if people do rush him, it's going to be in single file and he probably could have killed like more than half of the people trying to stop him one by one. Also, from what I have analyzed, this whole tragedy was going on in the back of the bus, so there was no way to pincer the guy in. And it's not like when the guy chopped off his head the victim finally died. He received multiple stabbings, he probably would have died much later on due to a massive blood loss.

The most disturbing part is how one of the witnesses described the suspect as a robot when he was stabbing the victim. Now THAT is something you really only see in movies when you show no remorse or pleasure in a killing.

I think the main reason why this is getting all sorts of media coverage is aside from the fact it seemed completely random (and it was, but more on that in a sec), but also because of the sheer gruesomeness of the crime. I mean, its one thing to stab someone in the neck, but to stab someone in the neck so many times that you decapitate the person is a completely on a whole new level.

Here is why I think the killer committed such a brutal crime. To put it simply, he was curious. I think the killer fantasized for a while as to what would happen if he committed a brutal killing that was for all intents and purposes completely random. The victim in this case just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (hence the second degree murder charge). I think all of us have at one point or another thought about what would happen if we committed a violent brutal crime, but most of us stop at that point. The killer on the other hand, simply decided to act out his fantasy, which was the reason why he acted in such a calm manner while he was stabbing the young man.

This is why I'm glad capital punishment exists and is legal
Unfortunately, this happened here in Canada, and because of that, he will spend the rest of his life behind bars, all the while sucking up taxpayer money for his incarceration. I am not normally a death penalty advocate, but I think in this case he deserves the ultimate penalty.

Yeah the guy who did this was likely an ASPD.

An ASPD who wanted infamy and to horrify as many people as possible.

And indeed most of them do not kill or at least don't put themselves in a position to get caught for it.

Likely this guy just got bored of everyday life and wanted his name and this story to be immortalized and also he is probably hoping to be executed as when a sociopath has a high degree of narcissism to them they usually cannot bring themselves to "self terminate".
