Not a bad movie per se, but highly overrated. Sandra Bollocks plays your typical "strong but vulnerable" modern woman from a small town in the Midwest. Despite having only minimal training as an astronaut (and failing at it), she gets sent to space anyway for reasons that are not entirely explained. There, she is accompanied by George Clooney (who is a massive white knight for reasons I won't mention to avoid spoiling the plot) and some stereotypically goofy Indian dude. All of a sudden, disaster strikes and our small town country girl transforms into a superwoman who accomplishes a series of highly improbable tasks as she bounces around the Earth's lower orbit.
