"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

well im 15 years old now. turning 16 in late may. and i just got my first job. well, ive only worked 2 days so far and am starting to see why a lot of older people have told me "you have your whole life to work". i am making plans this saturday to go to the club for my second time. last saturday was the first time i went. i was basically going in there to get a grip on it. i really didnt know what to expect. well i wasnt expecting to hook up with a HB9. now after having that kind of success my first time, i cant get my mind off going again. ive been thinking about it all week. problem, i might have to work. things are changing. soon ill be driving, graduating from high school. im starting to see how much things change in these 4 high school years. im only a sophomore too. it's gonna be fun though:) . my question is for members on here that have gone through high school or are older than me. how did your lives change when you got a job? how about when you got a car? and in general take me through your high school career.:)

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

For me getting a job was one of the best things I ever did. The day I got my first paycheck made me feel like I was released from the cage we call childhood. ;)

Shortly after starting to work, I bought a car, and had actual spending money and could use it to buy whatever I want. Much better than the $10 a week allowance.

Yeah, it sucks when you don't have as much free time, but when you get to cash your first check, it makes it all worth it.

Don't let work get in the way of the important things in life...art, self-discovery, growth, and peace. Those are the things that will keep your life worth living.

getting a job changed my life tremendously. i was extremely shy throughout my first 3 years. i got a job at a grocery store towards the end of my junior year. it was very hard at first because i was so shy and it was hard talking to all these new people. but after a while i became more natural and it became easy. i got over my nervousness and shyness because of getting a job. i've worked there for about a year now and it has been a great experience. getting a job helped me so much in maturing and becoming better with people. i recomend anyone 16 years old to start out at a grocery store for their first job.

yea getting a job is pretty sweet. sometimes it sucks and you will dread going to work, but sometimes at my job they send us home early and i get bored as hell, so having a job makes time go by faster. i work as a telemarketer for the qwest telephone company and it sucks really bad sometimes, but i have improved my talking to chicks with my job, so its pretty tight. enjoy your job

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Best thing I ever did. You meet new people. More importantly though I am starting to come out of my shell.

well the last 2 days have gone like this for me. wake up for school at 630. get out at 2. go to baseball at 215. yesterday it went til 430 and then i went to work at 530-930. came home and chatted online. went to bed. today after getting out of school at 2, i had baseball at 230-630, got to work a half hour late of my first day(the day before was a training day). got out at 1045. i am shot right now. need sleep. worse yet is i have to work saturday. me and my friends were gonna go to the club, but i cant. i feel like im missing out, and being held back. oh well, i suppose i am getting my paycheck tomorrow

i am juggling so many things right now. work, baseball, school, of course my social life. i am debating on giving up my vacation this summer to work on a fishing boat. the thing with the fishing boat is that i could prolly get paid as much in the 3 months of summer as i could in 9 months during the school year. but is it worth giving up my 2 week vacation? thats the question i have to answer. another thing about the boat is that i will be working during the day, so i can hit the clubs at night. on the other end however ill have to get up real early in the morning. i have a lot of questions to answer.
