What are some good hip hop artists?

I don't want any hardcore gangsta rap. Looking for something with good beats, and more lyrics than profanity.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

On top of what everyone else has said, I really like these guys:

Lupe Fiasco-love his lyrics
Kanye
GZA-great word play
Immortal Technique-amazing story telling
Jedi Mind Tricks
Mobb Deep
Outkast
The Pharcyde
Talib Kweli

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Delinquent Habits - one of my alltime faves, their debut.

i don't listen to such music at all, but i think that Timbaland's 'Scream' has really confident DJ-ish lyrics. notice that the video is cut from the important male vocal parts, better listen to the cd/mp3.

What kinda hip hop you like?
southern? - like Lil Boosie, Jeezy, Wayne, Andre 3000, big boi and the Kings Luda and TI

Chicago - Lupe, Twista, Kanye, Common.

Jersey - Redman, Method..

New York - (lol) - Busta, fabolos, jada and all the others.

You know MIAMI bass rappers will desimate competition....but im prejudice.

Personally - for lyrics i rate
Ludacris and Andre 3000 as top
Common - Content and music selection.very deep..
Cory Gunz - speed and content
Jeezy - delivery
Wayne - Creativity
magno - funny lyrics
Ross - dope boy lyrics
lil boosie - southern
Joel Ortiz - all round fire
Busta - content

i dont respect anyone from g-unit..ghost writers are easy to find..

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Kanye, Atmosphere, Pharcyde, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal, Lady Sovereign, and probably my favorite right now is Danger Mouse (ok, technically a DJ but check out his collaberation album with Jemini called "Ghetto Pop Life" or if you can find it his mesh of Jay Z's "Black Album" and the Beatles "White Album", entitled "The Grey Album".

Actually all the oldschool rap is better than everything thats out today.
definately, when the producers actually sampled and chopped instead of using weak synthesizer beats and vocoders
