"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I'm like WTF. I know it happens, but there are so many girls out there. He has to choose my ex (we broke up like a couple months ago). He just doesn't want to be friend with me any more. It's his second time doing this to a friend... he's got some infamous record going on.

I've seen it happen to other people, but never to me before. This is mind blowing. I'm in shock.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Why??? Why do you care what they do?

Apart from being upset because everyone tells you that you should feel disrespected... what physical, tangible problem does this cause for you?

He is not your friend if he's doing your ex girlfriend.

This. Why does it matter to you that he is dating your ex? You can't control what other people do. As another user said, she isn't your property. Get over it. It's not a sign of disrespect; they like each other and it happens to be that they probably met each other because they were socializing in your circle. Having ANY ounce of caring is CREEPY and CONTROLLING, especially since you're not in a relationship with her anymore.

What, do you expect a guy to pass up an attractive, receptive female just because you're his friend ? That makes zero logical sense dude.

It doesn't require a rocket scientist degree to know when a buddy is talking about "an ex" (random) and "his ex" (recent). The OP is spot on.

When men (which includes some of the follow-up posting mentality in this thread) start acting like and adopting the mentality of a woman (no brotherhood - ethics or loyalty to their fellow friend) then you don't need them.

Walking a way is best, but if you want to inject them with a little of their own medicine - here's what works: Next time you see them out together, you talk to your friend just like nothing has happened. The girl will probably say "hey" or try to also engage you as well. Just give her a glance and then go back to talking to your friend. Keep it short, but friendly.

After you leave (because you gave him the time of day and not her) she will be livid! He will have to deal with her behavior. He will also become angry and/or insecure because he will wonder why you have that type of 'hold' on her.

Walking away is really the best route, but I wasn't above doing the above and it works. I know from experience. The friend later called me up and I said that it was between them and I wanted no part in it.

I don't feel anything other than surprise. This kind of thing happens more in TV drama than in real life. They are not even in the same town -- a couple hours of flight. I just think it's funny.

How would you treat them afterwards, just like nothing happened? Do you still treat him like a good friend? I can't really talk to him any more -- I don't know what to say.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Some of you don't understand the term "true friend". When a good friend goes after your recent ex, it makes you question your friendship. The fact that he's fvcking your ex simply means if he got the slightest chance to fvck her while you were still dating her, he would've done it with no regret.
Like Black Widow said, walking away is the best solution. Move on, there nothing you can do to control the situation

Oh and if that friend has a sister and she's fvckable, don't hesitate to give her a good pounding:up:

A real friend doesnt do that. I would never date a buddies ex gf or ex hook up. Hell, I dont even go after a girl my buddy previously showed interest in unless I ask him if hes cool with it.

Bros before hoes...always. True friends are hard to come by, so why fvk that up for some puzzy?

It might be a little awkward, but it's not illegal or against any code of ethics. Things happen, why should you tell them not to be together if that's what makes them happy? If he came in and stole your girl from you that's one thing, but you two broke up months ago, and then the ball starting rolling between your ex and your buddy. You don't own her, just because you dated her doesn't make her off limits to everybody you're friends with.

Just let them live their lives how they want and you should live yours.

the fact that he's doing that without your permission or consent means he's a bad friend

he's allowed to do that and perfectly within his rights, but he's also perfectly allowed to tell your secrets to the whole school/campus/office via megaphone, that wouldn't exactly make him a great friend worthy of praise either.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

A good friend would not date ur ex
I got to agree.

Found out my friend got hammered and then nailed my ex. Now we both got onto this topic and I explained to him that she was a cheater and how i wanted her out of my life. I dont want him dating her because that means i have to tolerate her to one degree or another.

If it was a mutual breakup i would not care at all. True friends have eachothers back, they don't associate themselves with people who treat their friends with a complete lack of respect(let alone date them).

It's what seperates men from women. We have our codes. Women don't.
