"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hey everyone.

Im newly single and trying to work on my dating skills. This site has been great but my one of many issues is I don’t have many friends to go out with and definitely not a wingman.

Most of my friends are married and don’t want to go out or just don’t want to go out period.

What do women think of the guy who is at the bar alone?? I have no problem going to bars or clubs alone but if my chances are slim to none cause im the "loner" it might not be worth going till I find some new friends..

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I've been hitting up the bars early by myself and getting to know the regulars and bartenders. If you get to know the bartenders you can always sit at the bar and have a conversation and bring in the people next to you and see what happens. I eat at this sushi place once a week and spent 15 dollars and they gave me two free drunks on top of that. I always tip well.

It probably depends on your personality but going into a bar when its packed by myself is no fun. Even if I'm with a bunch of people a busy bar bores me.

I've been working as a bartender and bar security for 3 months and I can tell you now that you will have absolutely no problem.

Don't stare stare stare and stare, if you do a 5 second stare once then approach immediately. Do not expect her to approach you. Don't keep staring or you will ruin your chances with her, and your night won't be any fun.

Unless you go in high energy don't approach from behind.

Thats about it, go crazy, have fun, go out expecting to meet people, don't go out waiting for something to happen. Go out with a purpose, to put yourself out there, to have fun, spark new experiences, and to meet people.

I like htat advice I had never really considered making friends with the bartenders before but it seems like a nice idea (at least with the female bartenders :)).

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Going to the bar alone is fine. Socialize and get comfortable not having friends to fall back on. Just be chilled out. You don't have to be an approach machine, just slowly make your way around.

Its absolutely ok to go to a bar alone. Here's the thing though...

if you're not social and kind of introverted you're probably not going to have
any fun.

The people that I've seen thrive in bars alone are already social people and are generally good at conversation and making connections with people.

The irony is that these are the people that rarely have to go alone because they have enough friends.. I had a friend that was like this, he was so good at meeting and talking to people. If I walked into a bar and he was there alone, he was already chatting up a few people and seemed to be having fun without me.. he was a natural people person though. Sometimes I think you're born that way.

It is also good to make friends with blokes at the venue too. 99% are friendly and you can just talk logical guy stuff and pump up each other's egos. I usually pick groups that have female friends as well. Most of the time the guys introduce me to the girls.

This is not quite Mystery Method group dynamics. It's just making friends both male and female at a venue when you're by yourself. Complementing guys on their clothes, jobs or possessions are good ways to get chummy fast. Then buy a round of drinks and you'll be their best mate for the night. No matter if they have female friends or not. If you become a regular, you will see them again and you never know...

Many guys have sisters or nice single female friends they try to get hooked up, but this is hard when other patrons at a venue are totally unknown. Become known without having an (obvious) agenda and it can only help ya.

In summary: network.
