going to a party - dont know person

ok so my friend who goes to another highschool asks me if i wanna go to some chicks 18th birthday party, said he could bring guests and i said i would go. But the thing is l like wont know anyone there apart from him, so wont it be all weird, even when the b-day girl doesnt know me?

anyone else been in this situation?

A party is a WAY to meet people. They are there to socialize. Introduce yourself to EVERYBODY and explain to them that you're just a guest and that you don't know anybody. Get into some conversations and just compare interests. Use this as a way to extend your social circle. If you make 2-3 good friends HERE, they will invite you to a party where you can meet some MORE friends.

i agree...be open and friendly right off the bat. doing so would make it easier to introduce yourself to others. listen to what people are talking about....if you think you have something to add to the converstation, bump in and give your opinion. it really isnt that hard. better practice and learn now before you hit up big parties where it becomes more difficult. and besides, in this enviroment, it alot easier to make friends and get numbers than in a loud noisy drunk enviroment.

yeah man, this should be a good time. The thing that I like about going to a place where Im not known is that if you dress nice, look confident and feel pretty good, there is an air of mystery about you since nobody knows you.

I remember when I was going to be a senior in high school over that summer, I went to a party with an old friend who I hadnt spoken to in a long time. Hell, I didnt even look that great now that I think of it (had shaggy hair) but people were like who the hell is this kid and I introduced myself and my friend told them I was blah blah from the town im from and i played football for a particular high school.So I was known as this tag line which actually started up convos and stuff. So people were talking to me and such, and the night went pretty well. And chicks actually were intrigued because of it. I remember I got dates with 2 or 3 girls from that party (at diff times), but Id like to think that this particular scene with me being somewhat a man of mystery paid dividends.

SO what does this have to do with you?

Just go looking good, feeling good about yourself- and with guns blazing. Dont go in a 3 piece suit or anything- but try to be the best dressed there with casual style. Girls will take note. Strike up convos with people ( this is the key). Who cares if you dont hit it off with them- like you said you dont know these people and you dont have to if you dont want to. Talk to everybody- guys, girls, small animals (haha) and try to establish new connections. Networking will open new oppurtunities to get ass or even to hang out with some new people. Dont get wasted either if theres alcohol- just get buzzing around so you have your wits about you if you need to close the deal. By the way your mindset should the ABC's from glen garry glen ross (great movie)

^^ i do that....like a majority of people there are gonna smoke, girls and guys...and u can start up convos with either...if its with the guys just ask em if they hang out with any cool chicks or something, if its with ladies, just be money with em. also, i don't know what people on this site think, but i always find that alcohol coulds all my insecurities and i can go up and talk to any girl, or any group without any hesitations, just don't get so drunk that u slurr your words, etc. cus that's unattractive...g'luck

jeeebus, that annoyed the piss out of me enough when i was an AFC, chicks scabbing smokes of you.

if i still smoked, and knowing what i know now, Id be asking for a BJ , or at least a tongue down in return.

I say unless your getting something in return , DONT give chicks smokes (actually dont give chicks anything, except c0ck.), let some other loser give em cigs/drinks etc.
