"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So I'm pretty comfortable being by myself - I've never been on a night out alone, though. This weekend I'm house-sitting in the back end of nowhere, no friends anywhere near. But this small town is a very short walk away. No clubs, just four or five pubs.

Anyone got tips for going to these types of places alone? No dancefloors, possibly a live band or two though, definitely a pool table (and I'm not bad at pool). Gotta get out of the house this evening... Don't wanna come off as the crazy guy drinking alone, though!

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

I've actually had some of the most fun at clubs/bars when I go alone. Don't sit by yourself - go meet everyone. I mean EVERYONE. Chicks, Guys, bartender, everyone.

Good luck man. I've done this a few times with little success. It's pretty difficult to do. Just enjoy it and see what happens. I'd say it's a win if you are able to strike up some conversation.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

sometimes i go out alone when i want to enjoy the company of others. i don't creep i just sorta chill at the bar. have my drinks watch the game usually people end up gravitating towards me. guys, girls doesn't matter. when they see a person alone they go about it two ways. either they talk to you

"hey you see the game?"
"where's your friends?"

or they don't.

however the bartender sorta has to talk to you. chat them up make yourself known but make sure not to cling to them let them talk to other customers and do their thing. pretty soon you'll be recognized as a regular. and usually get some free drinks not to mention the social proof when you do bring friends/females to that bar.

I agree with cfdagola.

If you're alone, try to arrive early enough to get a seat at the bar. Being alone on a bar stool - totally ok as long as you are drinking and/or eating. Standing in a corner holding a drink and just staring -creepy.

LOL

yes sitting at the bar is definitely mandatory when you're drinking by yourself. no room at the bar? go home or try another one.

also make sure your eyes don't wander to much. if you gotta look somewhere look towards a far off door. or at the TV regardless what's on. when i first started going out by myself i noticed that i wanted to look at all the scattered booty around but that gets kinda creepy because people notice that.

and yeah like Mike32ct said. Standing in the corner holding a drink while staring at the crowd is kinda weird.
