Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Girls with commitment issues

So I dated this girl around five months ago. We dated for around five months. But things never really progressed to a relationship. I knew pretty early on that she had commitment issues and was not looking for a relationship. At the time that suited me fine as I was just looking for fun. But I ended up falling in love with her and it seemed like she was falling for me. But eventually she bailed because in her words "she just couldn't let people get close to her". I tried to reassure her but she was in tears and I could not get through to her or understand her.

She is kinda depressed and has a tendency to worry and is basically not a very happy girl. Low self esteem all that crap. But for some reason I really loved her.

I decided to give her space and hoped she'd sort things out in her head and try and get back with me. But it never happened. So I tried to move on and date other girls. But my heart just wasn't in it and ended up just using girls for sex to try and screw my ex out of my system.

I know oneitis is a really AFC thing, but I know my ex really liked me and did not stop liking me and it was her commitment issues that were the problem.

Is there anything I can say or do to persuade her to give it another go? Cos I think we had something special

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

No, you can't persuade anyone like that. Sometimes hittin other girls just for "anger sex" is a good thing and helps you get some of the old girl out of your system. I've been there man. It's a bad place to be, but you'll get through it. The ONLY way you can hope for her to come back to you is by truly putting her out of your life. If she does, you can go from there. If not, well she's already out of your life. Dude there are tons of girls out there, trust me you'll "fall in love" again. More than once. It might help to take your mind off girls for a while and focus on something you're interested in, at least that's what I did. Hell, go to the gym and really get into fitness. That'll solve a TON of your problems.

Yeah I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get her to change her mind. While it is true she did not come back to me; I know what she is like; and she is very proud and would not make the first move to get back together because doing so would be admitting she was wrong to break up with me and she would be afraid I would reject her.

To be honest when she broke up with me, I just accepted it and tried to get on with my life and get over her. Tried to screw her out of system and that did not work. Went on lots of dates but did not click with any of them. And I feel like I owe it to myself to make one more attempt with this girl because not sure how long it will be until I meet another girl I actually like.

What would be the best way of going about it?
