Girl wants me to lend her $140

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I dont even think good friends are trustable when money becomes involved.

I had a guy, knew him for a few years, pledged a fraternity with him. We had roomed together for over a year, spent countless time partying with him. Trusted him with my life and had risked my own for him on one occasion.

At 20 he got some worthless slut pregnant, was a broke college student and had no job, neither did she. Couldn't afford an abortion and the clock was ticking down before she changed her mind, she was already leaning on keeping it. I lent him $200 with an on his life promise to pay me back, made sure he knew I was very serious about it. He had a plan to get me paid back in increments within 3 months.

After the first two weeks he tried to stop paying. I hounded him for half a year and only ever got $140 back, only reason I got half of that was I took some of his books, traded them into the bookstore and kept $70 of the cash.

I don't think of him the same anymore, no longer trust him, now I always think he's out for his own best interests before considering mine.

The best thing you can do if your best friend needs a loan is point to a bank. It will ruin your friendship.

Better yet, tell her if she gives you a BJ everyday for a week, you'll lend her the money. Theres nothing like turning a women into a wh0re.
Do this and if she agrees enjoy the benefits then at the end of the week or two don't give her the money and claim you don't know what she's talking about.

Strange how most of you get so religious about your money... "it´s all about money all the time" that´s what you hear from about anybody returning to Russia from the States and the thread seems a good illustration for that.
Can´t judge from own experience as I haven´t been to the US yet.

If a friend is in real need and you can help him out - why not just give him the money...? I mean, having to pay for an abortion and sitting without money - what more serious reason could there be...?

Hounding that poor guy for months, selling his books... jeeeesus. Man, what were you doing...

I try to help my friends, and if the situation is such that I have money and a friend is in dire need - then I give it to him without any fuss. Without written statements and without interest payments. And I don´t expect it back. That would be foolish. If the money is paid back eventually - only the better.

I can lend money to a friend if I have enough. No questions asked. Just depends on how good of a friend she is.
