Say you know a girl is the nervous and shy type and doesnt talk much on the phone, even though she really has a desire to. She sends you a text, but instead of having a text conversation, you want to talk over the phone. Do you send her a text back saying "hey why dont you call?" to make her feel at ease. or do you just call her yourself?
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

DonS has the best advice here.

She is comfortable with texting, but build her comfort while she is with you on the phone.

If she is shy like you says she is, there there is not a chance .. that she is going to pick up the phone and call you.

The most she will do is send you an random text msg.
