"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

There is this girl in my office that just moved to my floor. She is hot as anything, tall, skinny, blonde. She doesn't talk to anyone in the office and seems to be kind of shy. I've walked by her a few times (in the hallway), never really said anything to her. I work in a large corporation with a very conservative culture, there are very few people who date within my company. Hitting on someone could probably get me into trouble. I thought about just throwing a party for my side of the floor (which she is on) and just putting a flyer on her desk (that says I'm having a party at my condo) - that way she doesn't suspect anything.

What do you guys think? Your opinion is much appreciated. Any suggestions on how I can approach her? She's not working on my project so it would be pretty obvious if I just went up to her. How about sending her a gift saying that she has a secret admirer. I have no clue. Please help.

Thanks

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Sounds like my situation, with the big corp and all. She's not much of a talker, and just because she smiles or makes great EC doesnt mean it's an IOI. It's natural for people at work to be either friendly or cold. Eventually im going to ask her out to coffee before i leave the company. However im currently keeping it professional while slowly upping the friendliness, and developing rapport.

I think you should just relax and let time take its course. She just started at the company, she's just begun to adjust at the company and you swoop in and try to ask her out? If she is your subordinate...do not go there.
If you 2 happen to pass each other, make EC smile and say hi...if it works out you can chat her up. slowly get to know her, and at the same time keep things professional without deviating too far from character. when you and her develop good enough rapport, ask her out to lunch/coffee. Generally it isnt a good idea to date co-workers because of a slew of problems, but since you guys dont work together it may not be so bad.

She sounds a little like a cold fish to me, but the only way to find out is to say 'something' to her. You don't have to get into a full fledged conversation in the hall way, just say something simple like 'hi', or 'how are you' and see how she responds. If she gives you a warm friendly response, then move forward.

I work in a large corporation with a very conservative culture, there are very few people who date within my company. Hitting on someone could probably get me into trouble.

Don't worry about what other people do, if you want to proceed with this girl, then go for it, just be smart about it. Don't sit on her desk and make $exual advances at her, this will get you into some sort of 'trouble' I'm sure, not to mention turn her off.

Be smooth about it, charm her, make her laugh, go to lunch together. Lunch is the perfect time to amp up her interest level because you are away from the office.

I thought about just throwing a party for my side of the floor (which she is on) and just putting a flyer on her desk (that says I'm having a party at my condo) - that way she doesn't suspect anything.

If you want to invite her to a party, walk up to her and extend the invitation, don't hide behind a flyer bro, that's 'weak'. And why don't you want her to 'suspect anything'? Are you that intimidated by this girl? Man, i hope not.

How about sending her a gift saying that she has a secret admirer.

Sure, go for it, this is a quick way to make her feel like she's being stalked. Come on bro, get your head straight.
