"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

My gf has been extrememly negative lately. She hates her internship and dreads getting up every morning to go there. And i know chicks b*tch and complain, thats what they do. I dont mind listening to it here and there. But lately its just too much. The other night we met up for dinner, and from the instant i saw her she was upset and complaining bout her job. Which to me is annoying. Im only dating this girl 3 months, and shes already acting like im supposed to be her emotional tampon.

I mean after 3 months shouldnt u still be putting on a happy face for the person ur dating? Hell i think even if ur married 10 years you shoiuld try to do that, just cuz your going out to dinner and it shouldnt be a negative b*tch fest, it's supposed to be having fun. It's one thing to make a whiny comment or two, but to start doin that sh*t from the second we meet up is ridiculous.

What do u guys think? Is this normal? This happened with another girl i dated once who was obsessed with her weight and her grades and other bs and after we were dating a while, it was all negative with her too.

I hate being in a great mood, and then having to get her negative vibe rubbed off on me all the time, it seems like a lot of chicks are like that. It's annoying to cuz then when i try and change the subject and talk about something fun, she teases me sometimes for all my enthusiasm. Like as if im being a dork for being interested in something. I dunno, im starting to think i should change the way i treat her. I'm being way too nice and entering into her reality.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Make up a story about a girl you dated in the past who you had a great relationship with but then she became very negative and wouldnt stop, so you ended it. This will get the point across.

You can use this for any area of your life when someone isnt acting in a way you tolerate. Pick whatever there doing then tell them a story about someone in the past that did it and how you had to remove them from your life.

Ok Here's my idea.

1) you could pretend to listen. (tread carefully here if they ask questions like "What did I just say, where was I, or What do you think?")

2) You could give her a certain amount of complain time. Then no more.

I've interrupted with: "No more complaining. We're going out." Think of fun, inexpensive things to do that will get her mind off her stressful day. You get to try new things, you're trying to force her to think about something else, and hopefully you'll both have a good time.

3) Give her a relax time. After a long horrible gig, I need to unwind. Even after a GOOD gig, I still need to unwind, and I'm a dude!

4) Be patient, but keep some limits. I had a really difficult horrible, ugly week. And my buddies hung out with me and let me vent. They won't do that forever (I should hopefully never need them to). But it's been good to vent a little and get some of this frustration (hopefully) out of my sytem. I try not to abuse it. And I'd do the same for them.

If she complains, and keeps doing it, and starts complaining about everything, then she's having trouble. She might be a negative person. And she either needs to stop complaining (eventually), or you need to break up. Don't be nasty about it, be understanding, but let her know tha you have limits. If you want to keep sticking around to see if it's temporary, then try my first suggstions and see if those will help.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I have to take a butter knife and cut a brick out of the place I rent, but I'd do it for $200, shipping included. :)

GloriouslyInsane hit it dead on. A dinner date is between YOU and HER, not HER and her WORK. Sure, it's alright to listen...any other time, but when it IMPEDES on couple time, take the incentive and give her the 'stop complaining about work during our time, or I'm going home' line.

She'll figure out real quick what's important in her life.
