GF Plays Battered Card, Admits to Murder, Gets Probation

This is news in my neck of the woods as I'm only an hour or a little more from Pekin, IL where the dude had been from. This is truly sick. She admits to killing him and plays the 'battered' card. Serves 277 days in jail and gets 10 years probation in Wisconson. I seriously about threw up when I read this.

I've been to Pekin. What a dump! It makes Southern Illinois look classy by comparison.

The article didn't mention the cost of the false manhunt she led the police on. They could have tried her on making false statements and gotten jail time out of just that. The prosecutor sucked, whoever he or she was.

On the bright side, most murderers in Illinois serve only about 3-5 years anyway, after they plead out to a manslaughter charge. So her only doing nine months is not that huge of a travesty.
