"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

OK- here is the scenario

I have a gf right now and am in my last year of college. I met her about a year ago and we've been going out since May 2005. She graduated in May and now works somewhat far away from my college in my hometown. I still have 2 semesters to go however.

I love her and eventually want to end up with her.

The dilemma I am having is that I kind of want to go on break. I know she doesnt, but for me - i dont feel the need to have a girlfriend in college. It really just adds worry to me and ties a rope around my hands. My gf is usually negative and sad. I love her though at the same time and I gave her my virginity.

I get kind of jealous though because she didnt lose her virginity to me and she got to experience all of her college career without a boyfriend to tie her town. I would also like the chance to have sex with another girl besides just her for my whole life. I know im not crazy for thinking that. I really want to just go all out up here without feeling bad. But I know its also unfair for her to sit there while I have all the oppurtunity.

Basically I think I am a sh*tty boyfriend for even thinking like this.

I dont know what to do. Is it possible to go on break while im at college but re-connect when I am at home? that sounds shady really but I would love it if it was like that.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

"If things don't change for him, he's gonna marry the first girl he lays...and she's gonna treat him like sh!t...because she will have given him what he has built up in his mind as the end-all, be-all of human existence. She won't respect him, 'cause you can't respect somebody who kisses your ass. It just doesn't work."

Nah I was just using some old Ferris Bueller quote on you that I thought would knock some sense into you. Part of me has the impression that you're still whipped with this chick because she popped your cherry. Some guys tend to get very attached to their "first" girl. I'm not saying this is definitely your case but it's a possibilitiy.

Seriously though...you're in f*ckin college man. College is basically your final dosage of being surrounded by the largest colony of c*ck craving females for the rest of your damn life. I know, the truth hurts.

It's great that you popped your cherry and have had an LTR, but you have the rest of your life to be in LTRs. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong by only being with this one girl, but in the event that the relationship goes sour in a year or two, you will seriously be kicking yourself in the face when you realize you could have met a bunch of other chicks while you were still in college instead of being strapped into that one relationship.

After college is over, where else do you think you are going to have such easy access to meeting such a wide variety of chicks in one place? You'll be committed to a 9-5 job or whatever, and basically your only other outlets will be:

1. Random chicks at clubs/bars/restaurants/malls/stores/beaches/stadiums
2. Random chicks driving by/walking on the streets
3. Slutty waitresses/hostesses at restaurants
4. Bank tellers/receptionists/store clerks
5. Co-workers at your job, if any
6. Being setup by friend of a friend
7. The Internet, if you're into that sh!t
8. Strippers and hookers

While the above list may sound like plenty, you'll quickly realize that NONE of those locations are going to offer the quantity or the quality that you can find at your disposal in college.

Clubs may be the closest thing you can get, but you can't even really compare clubs to college because most of the girls there will have their b!tch shields up at all times, the quality and class of chicks at clubs will be a lot more limited than what you are exposed to at college, and you'll be surrounded by tons and tons of competition, which isn't as big of an issue at a giant college campus.

I hope I've put things into better perspective for you. You're blowing large opportunities by allowing an LTR interrupt your college life. I think you really need to put in a serious effort to meet more chicks these last two semesters so you can expose yourself to some VARIETY. You might as well take advantage of what's available to you while you still can.

By the way...this doesn't make you a bad bf. This makes you an intelligent male who doesn't want to sit and watch as his opportunities turn to sh!t.
