Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

A friend recently took his own life because of his failing relationship with his girlfriend. He had a baby daughter too. His gf and baby meant the whole world to him. Another friend took his own life over his gf a few years back too. God knows if anyone from this forum has taken their own lives too when they couldn't find answers on sosuave.net and within themselves.

Both these guys were cool and awesome. But the break up got to them at their weakest point and it proved deadly. It really cuts me to see guys throw away their lives when they don’t know how to deal with break ups. I don’t want to hear another person kill themselves or ruin their lives when they could have found a different way of getting through it. I’ve been in this situation a few times and I’ve come close.

Breaking up with someone really hurts so badly. I get attached so easily even if I'm seeing multiple girls as well so there's no escape. It hurts so bad nothing could ever compensate the void left behind when someone leaves you (real love or just simply oneitis). Some people get over it. Some people fall down so bad it takes them ages to get their lives back on track.

I know this kind of painful emotion is natural and you have to feel it to live. But sometimes some people arent strong enough to overcome it. Mind you I couldn't Dj on some girl because the break up made me feel like I couldn't have a girl and that my own abilities were to blame. Pathetic reaction to a break up huh.

What I want to see (and also for others) is a list of things and methods that you have used to get over a girl. I know for the first few days you don't feel like doing anything and just feel like doing jack. (lol I know I have in the past).

Here's a list of things I have done to get my mind off a bad break up or a rejection:
1. Do weights or any intense physical activity. Not only they release endorphins but they let that pent up anger out of you. On the physical side, you get heaps fitter and musclier too, adding more DJ points under your belt so you can get back up quicker and way better than before.
2. Read the DJ bible. The bible has so many feel good articles and methods to get you back up. You get to read up on other people’s stories and you just think to yourself that your problems seem smaller than others.
3. Do what you can do to improve using the extra time you have from the break up. Some of you maybe thinking of revenge and that hurting them will make you feel better. It never makes any difference and you are only making the hole bigger. You will regret it badly. The best revenge is to live well and to the full. When you have yourself a hot girl resulting from moving on, that will have a bigger effect than simply walking around hurt, bitter and vengeful against the world. Use you recovery time wisely. It’s ok to feel like a turd for a short time but make an effort to get cracking as soon as possible Go spoil yourself and do the things you weren’t able to do before.
4. Feel the pain willingly. The more break ups you have the less it will hurt the next time.
5. Hang out with friends more than usual. They will be more useful than you thing. They will do funny silly stuff with any excuse. Hell, they may even shout you some drinks and a lapdance. Who knows?
6. You MUST ELIMINATE sad, AFC media. Avoid soppy movies and break up songs (“I’m all out of love, I’m so lost without you”) Watch “Swingers” and similar movies. Fill your time with as much fun and comedy. It will make things a lot easier.
7. Avoid ANYTHING that triggers the memories you and her share. Avoid it like the plague. Songs, food, movies, places and activities that remind you of her must be avoided. Get rid of her stuff. Either return it to her or completely get rid of it. Period.
8. Do things that are normally not your thing. Go volunteer for a charity or get to know different kinds of people. Take a different route to work or rearrange your place. Do all sorts of crazy stuff (make sure its not illegal or at least don’t get caught).
9. Minimize the time you spend alone by yourself. This is slow suicide. Spend as much time with other people. Keep yourself busy and productive.
10. If you have a lot of pent up anger and a few words to say, write it down on a piece of paper and let loose. You can write down the most vulgar, rudest, and violent sh*t you can possibly get out of your system. Don’t hold back. Think of EVERTHING that you wanted to say to her and write it down. Then when you are finished BURN IT, do not send it to her or let her know any of it. If you do you are only delaying the recovery process. Trust me. It hurts to begin with but you will feel a thousand times better at the end of it.

Anyway this is my own list that I have done in the past and will do in the future when the time comes. I hope you guys will follow them or make up your own. Plan it through if you must. When you have gotten over things you will think to yourself, “Why the hell was I crying like a little baby in the first place huh”. And then jump back on the game and end up with a banging hot babe.

Please add your own to the thread and have some input or maybe a little story to get us interested. It would be also great if someone has recently had a break up and would like to try it out and see how they feel.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Suicide isn't something a board like this can help anyone prevent.

Lots of people think about suicide but to actually go through with it isn't related just to a bad breakup - stop kidding yourself. There are mental issues involved here.

Yes suicide is not entirely over a bad break up BUT 2 of my mates have killed themselves over a break up or because of a girl. One just a few days ago and the other a couple of years ago. So this had me thinking about making a post like this.

These suicides are the extreme cases and could be just those rare things. What if they got help before things got out of hand?

I don't know what percentage of suicide is related to bad break ups. I dont know how far the board can help others but it definitely helped me a fair bit.

Anyone got their own methods of getting over a girl and moving on?

I'll be the first to say that breaking up is hard, but I've become a lot less dramatic about it.

It helps to have a couple other chicks ready, but I have to say, that doesn't fix it completely.

The biggest thing that helps me is to focus on my long term goals. For me, its seeing myself in a couple years having a nice place, a good job, a good position in society, etc. I also have physical goals, like wanting to improve my physique and excelling in things I like, such as wrestling. These help me get my mind off a girl and even makes me realize how trivial it is.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

I think there is a huge difference between getting over a girl you argue with and getting over one that things were going well with but for some reason or another you got dumped.

Many guys on here may not have experienced a tough breakup. I know I hadnt experienced a truly difficult one until this year. The other ones were sad for a bit, but not truly painful for a long time like the one I had this year.

I think my case was aggravated by the fact I was in a new town, alone with no friends and starting a new job. I know now if I can handle that I can handle anything.
