Getting invited to parties

I am a sophmore in highschool. I suppose I should give some background. I came into highschool as a nerd. Virtually no friends. I analyzed how people acted in true nerd fashion, and with the help of the fact that I'm really funny, I've become pretty popular. I hung out with an unpopular crowd to begin with, but now I'm intigrating with the "popular" crowd.

My problem is that I can't get close enough to them. I see them in class, and I get along great with pretty much everyone. I see them in the hallways. They talk to me about having a great time at parties.

My problem is that no one invites me to parties. Am I supposed to do something? I'm completely oblivious to the etiquit involved. I've completely abolished my nerd title. I spend my time hanging with the popular crowd. Just not outside of school. How do I get to the outside of school part?

High school parties are usually not invite only. Just go, nobody will care. I crashed a party on halloween where I didn't know the two people hosting it and they were fine.

I had the same problem my freshman year. Find a popular friend who goes to parties and go along with him. Get numbers and call people, you like to get calls dont you? so do others. Noone will care if you call them and ask if anyting is going on tonight.. call everyone. Once you start going to parties, you will be known as a party-goer and people will start to call you and see what is going on, then you can suggest meeting up with them. I personally think "going out" in highschool gets old, but the biggest thing you can do is... on friday and saturday nights, get together with friends about 7 or 8.. that way you can find a party together
