"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

At the end of our lives it will be our virtues we regret more than our vices.
that sounds interesting MrTomassi. could you eloborate more on that as a general theme? it's obvious and true how to take this advice in relation to the thread but isn't it our virtues who give us more inner happiness?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I don't know too many people who regret virtues. Most people I know -- old and young -- say the best thing they've done in life is raise children. Even Mr. Tomassi here beams proudly when speaking of his daughter.

He might be getting at regretting not doing certain things that could be deemed on the wild side or anything.

Most people I know don't regret having class, raising a good family, and having a good job -- all virtues.

I think this site at times is way off base ... this is one of those cases, though I could be reading it wrong.

I haven't heard of too many alcoholilcs, druggies, pimps and prostitutes who have died happy ... I'm probably reading this wrong.

Lets just say it's better to regret things we have done than things we haven't.

Ah, that explains things a little better. That I agree with 100 percent.

me too.

nonetheless it would be an interesting subject to discuss. like would it be better to lie in situations in which lieing would benefit oneself or would the benefit of being honest with oneself and others be greater regarding to better selfrespect/selfesteem, attracting better/healthier people in one's life etc.

or another example: in "get rich" books(i'm talking about those which focus on the right mindset like thinkandgrowrich, greatestsalesmanintheworld,..) it is always advised to only do what benefits all people involved, to give to the poor, to produce value and so on. but my question is is this REALLY so important for a man? is a mafiosi with strong family ties, a hot woman/women, plenty of money and power really that unhappy?

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Yo Trader,

Consider this:

Maybe the purpose of a man's life is defined not in the pursuit of happiness, but in the pursuit of personal, spiritual growth and integrity. I believe that a pursuit of these things are what generate true JOY, rather than simple HAPPINESS.

HAPPINESS can really be defined as an emotional high, like a shot of a mood altering drug. And like a drug, it is dependent upon an injection from something "outside" of yourself (see----babes, jobs, possessions,etc.).

But JOY can be defined as a deeper emotional high that is more spiritually based. It's more like a constant infilling of the soul with a sense of happiness PLUS contentment---inspite of a change in "outside" circumstances.

Joy comes from within, while happiness comes from without. Joy is internally generated, while happiness is externally manufactured.

Now, as this relates to babes---I'm finding that with every transient babe that I BONE I am NOT full of joy...only happiness. How do I know the difference? Because as soon as it's over, I will notice a boredom, or an emptiness, or a restlessness from inside.

Now, I have had JOY before with a woman, though. And how do I know this? Because as soon as the BONING was over with that particular kind of babe, I noticed a closeness, a lingering excitement, a sense of contentment and peace.

So therefore, I feel that your example of the "Unhappy Mobster" is a good one. The answer is NO. A mobster like the one you spoke of is probably mostly happy, rarely unhappy, but surely NEVER filled with the peace that only JOY can bring.

And speaking of peace...

May we all find it...one day.
