If a girl calls you a friend in a conversation, does that automatically make you a friend?

Do they conciously know what that word means to guys like us?

i'm not saying she says "LJBF"
i was saying something like "you don't have any friends"
and she replies, "what about you"...

that's not the only instance but one that stands out. =/

Not in highschool. Not ever. As long as you met and talked to her, you are a friend. Normally you're an aquaintance. Society is messed up...

In that context, it doesn't matter. How else would she refer to you? As "a guy she is attracted to"? Girls will refer to you as their friend unless you are actively dating.

dont over analyse, she called you a friend so your on her positve side
