"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So I'm in the middle of a strange and confusing situation. Don't let that sentance scare you though :D

Anyways, about 3 weeks ago, I get an email from my friends gf, asking if I wanted to make plans with her in 3 weeks, after she gets back from some trip to california.

Well, about 2 days later, I hear about them breaking up. Now, this person who she was dating isn't really a friend of mine these days, he moved in with his new band members to "make it big", that whole situation is a long story, but what I'm trying to say is that he's just a person I used to know.

Anyways, I've known the girl for a year or so, more or less because she was dating my friend, I know very little about her, and her personality, but we've had a flirtateous past, before they got together.

So heres the thing, should I consider this buying signals? We made plans to go out and do something on saturday, but hasn't given any "lets hang out" signals so I dont know quite what to make of it. I've never "hung out" with her before, the only times I've talked to her/seen her is when she was with my friend when we played shows (we used to be in a band together) so that kind of makes things a bit questionable for me.

Anyways, i'm not one-itis-ing or anything like that, I could really care less to tell you the truth (but I dont see why I still can't have a good time going somewhere with a HB 9.5 model/pagent girl ) But I would like to know what any of you might have to say about the situation.

Thanks in advance.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

It's a green light.

But why are you seeking validation? You obviously have doubt.

Your friend can, and possibly will make it a problem. Regardless if it's fair or not, that's a pretty low-blow to your buddy.

I'm an advocate for values, and it's his loss for losing the girl, but you can suer as hell make it worse.

Oh i'm not worried about his situation, we're not on good terms as it is, so it doesn't bother me one bit if I get invovled in any way with her. Thanks for reading!

Truely ask yourself. Is he a FRIEND. You said so in the title then started to justify him not being one....

If hes a friend. I would be careful....Talk to him about her. Not about her asking you out. See how he stands then under my rules you would need to ask him before you guys did anything. You dont fvck over friends.

If hes just someone you know. Hes not a friend. (Someone you regularly hang out with, talk to, and trust.) then just go for it....

Enjoy. Tell us how it goes. FR.

Sarge On!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

No I hear ya on that one, but this guy isn't one that I trust, nor consider a friend. We used to be, but he turned out to be a douche. That's all a long story like I said, but the point is no, he's not a friend of mine.

You're title was misleading then.

Either way, nothing we say should matter. If you want to, then do it, if you don't, then don't.

In that case have fun.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

UPDATE:

Well it went pretty good last night (from what I could tell), no kiss or anything like that, but LOTS of kino and eye contact (I'm not sure how she is about those sort of things, she doesn't seem like a huge flirt, has some moralistic values from what she's told me so I didn't want to make any dramatic moves until I understand her "policy", if you will). She didn't mention anything about other guys, or the ex for that matter, which makes me think that she might not want to LJBF me. She was laughing at my bad jokes, so thats not a bad sign eh?

Anyways, we spent the night down town, got some chinese food in the china-town area, and went on foot to a bunch of random stores (it was warm out, and there's a nightlife).

The Only thing that I'm questionable about, is that when we were in some book/gift store and the ex calls. She answered it with an unfriendly hello, and explained where she was at, but hessitated to say who with, when she was followed by a hangup. She didn't speak of the event or him at all that night, so I guess that means she doesn't look at me as friend(tampon) material.

What do any of you think of my situation. Do these look like buying signals, and not something I should waste my time over?

Realatively. I haven't witnessed anything relating to any of that yet, however I did notice some blurb on her myspace profile about how she's looking for someone again (i'm assuming this means that situation is overwith, she hasn't spoke of him or any of that with me, which leads me to think that I'm not being LJBF'd)

Not that I go to myspace for dating, I use it to keep in touch with friends from Highschool, in situations where I couldn't get ahold of them otherwise.

But yea, I'm having trouble reading this girl, what do any of you think I should be expecting? I know there are probably many answers, but I'd like to hear your opinions.

I've seen this before. This is her shot at revenge. If your friend has feelings for her, then what friend would you be by doing her?
