"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Hey guys, I've been here a while and the first post I had was about a break up, but I've had a friend that is dealing with something he sees as pretty serious.

Let me give you a little background. My buddy met this great girl. She is easily a HB9 or better and to top it off she has a great sense of humor and is an all around great girl.

So her and my friend started dating around 9 months ago. Things have been great for him, not only is she beautiful, but she gets his quirky sense of humor. She took his virginity(he was 20) and he was only the 2nd guy she had been with. Save for her 5 year relationship she got out of a 4-5 months prior to them meeting.

Thats the problem. The girl has a SUPER Ex Boyfriend and no I dont mean super powers. But he is basically the DJ that everyone here strives to be.

My boy got kinda worried because he would notice that she would talk to him every 4-5 days for as long as an hour sometimes. When my boy asked her who it was she said it was just her friend, and when he found out it was a guy. She told him it was her ex-boyfriend.

This kind of got to him. But she told him that she didn't tell him it was her ex boyfriend because she didn't see him as that, because now he is just her friend and nothing more.

Now from my standpoint I guess I can see what she means. When your with someone that long, I guess you do have to be really close, otherwise it wouldn't have worked as long as it did. So some kind of friendship has to be there.

Another thing is, he lives in a completely different country.(slovakia). So I said that was something not to worry about, it's not like shes going to do anything with him if he is 1,000 miles around.

But about a month ago, he stopped in the states and meet my boy and his girl for dinner(my boy asked me come too.) And man, I see why my boy was concerned. The guy is a great looking dude, the tall dark guy all women want and he is f*cking hillarious and cool as hell on top of it. He had us laughing all night and bought all our food and drinks. She told us on the way home that he use to be a real sh*t bag, drug addict and would never do anything like that. Now he is cleaned up and a pretty successful business man in his moms home country.

Another thing he has been noticing is that she gets up at like 11 at night to talk to him sometimes(more so now than before he met up to have dinner with us) since that would be sometime in the morning for him, and the frequency of the calls have become greater.

Now my boy hasn't said anything to her about it to indicate that he is jealous really, but it's starting to get on his nerves and after they met he thinks that she could be missing him alot more than she lets on. Or the fact that he could have turned his life around might have her falling for him again.

Another weird thing is, sometimes he calls when she is not there, my boy answers the phone and he talks to him for like 30 minutes.

I told him not to sweet it, but I dont really know what I would do. He might be a little intimidated after he met him or the fact that she still is attracted to him enough to call him and even meet up with him. She told my boy not to worry about anything though because he was such a goodlooking dude that getting another girlfriend to forget about her shouldn't be a problem.

Should he put his foot down? Or should he just show that he isn't really bothered, From my point of view I think this guy might be winning her back and my boy is just along for the ride. But then again, she told my boy that she would always love her ex, but that she was only in love with him.

I know it was long, but hey. It was a weird situtation. Any help is appreciated.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Well if he is all that DJ and a bag of chips...DJ's only keep ex's around for a sole purpose.. I think your boy should let his DJ show and take her away for a few days... like say if this guy calls on weekends, tell your boy to take his chick to the mountains, to a lake, to a beach, and do her like she has never been done before..I think he's gotta replace thoughts of the ex, with new adictions to him for this chick.

I think your buddy has still not found the right "Key" to unlock this woman.
I have a feeling that due to his inexperience, he might be slowly dropping the ball on this one.
I have a sinking feeling that he's going to lose her to the ex.
I know your buddy will be crushed. He will be severly damaged if he loses her to the ex bf.
And I agree with the advice of him really stepping up to the plate and putting on his "A Game".
I really, really think this is just a couple of months before she's gone emotionally and then...physically from your boy.
He HAS GOT to step it up a notch or two and totally replace her thoughts with himself.
HE has got to be the one on her mind all the time.
I truly feel this is the only way.

If you look at a woman as having a certain keyhole, the RIGHT man is the one who has the right "Key" to her. Meaning, he can satisfy her physically with affection and action, sexually of course, and emotionally, and be supportive and available to her.
If your boy is not satisfying the requirements he is in great danger of being Used and then dumped for the Ex.
IF....and I mean If she does NOT go for the ex BF, then I still have a feeling she is going to give him Ye Olde "I need some time", or " I need my space" speech.
You know where that ends usually, right?

Tell your boy he HAS to step it up somehow.
A vacation, or sexy romantic trips away from the usual settings.
He has to be HER main FOCUS, not the Ex bf.
He may have to romance her in unique ways. Ways that maybe he is not too well versed in.
He needs to inform himself and get her the hell out of that environment.
He needs to take action to provide their relationship with some AMAZING Experiences that really take hold in her.

You need to tell him that he is in for a very rude awakening if he's not emotionally prepared.
He needs to plan for the best, and be prepared for the worst.

Oh, and BTW, he has to do all this without getting AFC on her.
He has to romance her without looking weak, wimpy, supplicating, clingy, and needy.
If you want to see a grown man cry before you and tell you he found the ONE and eventually LOST the ONE, then don't do anything.
But if you DON'T want to see that, go and help him out.

A lot of us on this board have had similar experiences and lost girls we were in love with. Many times....
If I had someone to help me iopen my eyes back then I would have been grateful.
A lot of guys never had any help from anyone to get through these things, we had to fend for ourselves.
So a lot of us went through the Infinity Gauntlet for years.
If you care about your friend, tel him about this.

Good luck.

He aint no pimp if he's talking to ex-gf's for hours on the phone.... he's just an idiot with a big phone bill.
