I know this is not an ordinary thread in SS. But you see my best friend is having some "AFC/beta" traits in his behaviour. Let's call him Mr. X. Mr X has been my friend for over 13 years. We have always been able to talk about everything. Mr X has been in a relationship for about a year and he treats the GF like a princess. The girlfriend is unstable and quite selfish. She also meddled in to my relationship stuff and caused unnecessary drama.

The reason why this upsets me so much is that Mr X has changed a lot he flakes a lot of our hangouts ( we met usually few times a month just to talk stuff and have fun, driving around town or drinking) or is not availelable at all. We have a band together 1+ band member and haven't came up with songs and haven't practiced at all. I would like to help him with his relatioship show him the other side so to speak. Things like these just annoy me:

- He is with the GF whole time almost 24/7 when they are not together they text

-Mr. X has no other women in his life

- We are hanging out at a local coffee shop it is past midnight. His GF texts him. They exchange a few texts and he's like "I got to go, my girlfriend wanted me to come over. I'll drive you home " (with a bragging smile because he is going to get laid  ) This is happened two times and I was shocked and so pissed off that I just went total silent.

- We were having a boys night and his GF comes into the same bar with her friends they go to talk for over an hour because the GF wants to discuss things. The GF leaves with her friends and after 15 minutes Mr X receives a message "Come outside. I wanna talk. " He goes. Mr X talks with her for 2 hours and they end up coming to the bar together. No balls to just ignore the text or say " I'll talk to you tomorrow" and have fun with the boys.

-Mr X. leaves a party before midnight because her GF tired.

- Gives the GF affection and attention all the time when we are in the club they are holding hands and cuddling kissing and the girlfriends face usually looks very unhappy like disgussed from the affection.

I do not know what to do with him should I call him out? I just want the best for him. Sooner or later he gets dumped or cheated on. This is not my only friend in the world I have them plenty but I have known this guy for 13 years and he has become a total pvssy + his social skills are decreased and he is living in his on LTR-bubble. And it is effecting my bands success. He is like a brother to me and I do not want him to get hurt.

I was the AFC friend and to be honest...there's nothing to do. He's hypnotized by her *****, and even though you two are best buds - you don't have a ***** therefore his GF will always win.

If you don't want you two to go distant, stick to him. When he'll fall on his ass (his girlfriend will leave him) he will really appreciate you as a friend.

Tell him the things you have mentioned in this thread, but don't phrase it in a way that suggests you two don't hang out anymore but rather how his gf is controlling him.

The rest is up to him.

Honestly, he won't listen. He thinks he's in control. He's certain that he's in control.

Leave him to it. Your part in it isn't here yet, it's when he as you put it gets dumped or cheated on and his bubble bursts. Let the man face his own downfall so he can face the consequences of his own choices and then come in.

Of course I know this is harder said than done because he's your friend, but that's what I think he deserves. You want the best for him? then let him face his own consequences, don't waste your breath trying to explain to him because it's not going through to him right now.

Yep, been there, I had a friend like that too. Got his chick up on a mile high pedestal. Whatever she says he parrots, she is his almighty. And she is absolutely nothing great to look at. He changed a lot, became a hipster, stopped working, just complete 360's in every aspect. I just left him alone and stopped talking to him. It was aggravating me already and I just stopped caring. I think the best thing you can do is save yourself the grief and annoyances and leave him be. It's really not worth trying, you'll always loose to the golden puṣṣy.
