"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

As you probably know that I just got out of a year and month relationship with a girl.

I met D for the first time during my first swing dance club meeting. She was an officer and I was just coming into the club. So, we just joke around a bit and I don't really know much about her.

We meet up the next day during lunch and I am talking with a friend of hers about different travelling destination. She comes up and we start talking about swing club. I tell her that I cannot wait to begin swing dance.

She says, "Lets start tomorrow."
Me: "Alright, how about you give me your number."
Her: *writes down the number on a paper knapkin for me*
Me: "Cool" *continues to talk with Kim and leaves with her*

The Next Day:

I meet up with her outside my dorm. We get back to her place and we start to dance. I can tell that she is digging me because she dresses in an outfit that shows a lot of cleavage (nothing wrong with that). I dance with her. I do nothing except for talk with her and dance. She even shows me inside of her room for some unknown reason (NOTE: I am still in a relationship with my now ex).

A couple days later:
I break up with my then girlfriend to go try to get D.

A week later:
We both have time to hang out again. I bring over "take the lead" and we start watching it. She is dressed even more seductively than before. We begin to make out and have fun.

Today:
We go out to eat. I paid for the pizza and she paid for the drinks.

We then go back to her place and begin to watch the movie, "The creepshow" and make out.

Me: *tickles her side*
Her: "Hey don't do that. I am ticklish almost everywhere but a few places."
Me: "Really? Can I guess where?"
Her: "Sure?!?"
Me: "I bet this area is very ticklish." *sticks pointer figure on her crotch*
Her: "You don't need to know that. You won't be able to get there."
Me: *gives her a 'oh yeah right' face*
Her: "Yeah, I'm a good girl. There is still a few of us left."
Me: "I don't believe it. I heard the one girl say that and she just turned out to be a sexual freak."
Her: "Not me."
Me: "For some reason I don't believe it."
Her: "Why not?"
Me: "Prove it. I only date bad girls and I know what you are"
Her: *soft laugh*

I then ended up grabbing her @$$. damn I am good. :p

I get a ride back to my dorm from her and then we leave again.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
