"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I was hanging out today with my good friend, and we were gonna have a night of fun running around all of Knoxville and try and score a couple of numbers if things fell into place (IE...hot girls being somewhere we go).

First stop...the mall! This is a fairly good sized mall..so we head in there before going on to the rest of our night. We got there around 6:20 or so...a pretty good time for the chicks to be there.

From my experience...the best place to go in this mall is the Hollister...we started walking toward it, and after a brief distraction at the Apple Store (iPhones...sweet stuff!), we stood at the entrance of Hollister.

Now...Hollister, this isn't your regular Teen Preppy Clothes shop..no way... This sucker has TWO halves...a guys and a girls...along with loud fvcking music and hot girls sporadically spaced along the way.

My friend waits back a little near the front of the store while I make my way deep into the jungle (no..seriously...it's like a friggin jungle in there...almost black paint...blaring music...and ferns of some big sort hanging everywhere...picture that for me).

I make a pass through the back of the store and loop back around to the girls section hoping to find the pickings better.

Then...I see the shock of a LIFETIME

This was big...I mean...Michael Vick in a Humane Center big...

My friend...was standing there...TALKING TO A HOT GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!

I registered a short double take...and I finally came to my senses...although, I was never really there. Talk about a stunner!

Now...I'm a firm believer in Bros before Hoes...

But…why not come in and chat a little ;)

Back to the Man Vs. Wild reference…this truly is the worst gaming atmosphere in the entire universe…I’m not going to blame the rest of this report on the BLARING music and not being able to speak hardly…but that was a bullsh*t playing field…

I enter the two of them, with the girl standing in front of a wall and my friend standing in front of her, away from the wall.

I stand next to my friend…and smile and make eye contact with her, all the while gathering details about how he is talking to her.

Turns out…they both pole vault for the same summer track club, is what I gleaned from the conversation…and they were talking about that.

When there was a break in the conversation…I mentioned to my friend, “So, who is this?”

Friend: Oh, I’m sorry. This is Taylor.
HB (Nicole): I’m Nicole

*With a smile and eye contact* Me: Good to meet you

Then…there was an awkward pause in the conversation…I of course blame the music, and my friend for talking about pole vaulting… ;)

She happened to be playing with a Cherry Red Chocolate phone the whole time…so I decided to run a number routine type-thingy by mentioning her phone, then pulling out mine…saying how mine can’t hold a candle to hers…but if her number was in it…it’d be much closer. Corny, I know.

Me: “Nice phone you’ve got there”
Nicole: “Thanks!”
Friend: “What, is that a chocolate?”

*Then, a friend of hers (we were standing next to the dressing rooms), pulls her into the dressing room, for some unknown discussion…probably about the hot guy with her friend, I’d venture a guess*

Then, she comes back, and my friend talks with her about working at Hollister. She says a few things about it and then…

Me: *F**king shouting and barely heard still* “It sure is loud in here…how do you stand it?”

Nicole: “Yeah, but you get used to it. Like, I can hear an alarm standing here with the music and everything now”

Me: *Not doing very well…struggling for something to say* “Bet it’s different when you get back out there! You could hear great then.

Then, her friend pulls her back in, by the grace of God. My friend and I then exit…

I am rather disappointed in myself…I didn’t do well at all tonight…and I need to beat that next time. Thanks for the read!

BTW...after that, we had a kicka$$ time hanging out. We went to Hooters, then messed around downtown Knoxville and the UT campus!

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

dude.. my advice .. enter the set only if you're sure your friend is unable to talk and establish himself....

if you're meeting your friend , you should've stared talking to your friend first..instead of standing there....

1. Why enter the set if you're "Wing" is already talking to the girl comfortably?
2. You're friend didn't give you no accomplishment intro, he just did the "Hey man" and focus attention back on the girl thing.
3. Work on you're voice so you can project it in those loud environments

Overall I'm glad you were out there, gj.

Why were you surprised he was talking to a hot girl? Do you think you're better than him? Why?

He's a good guy...but I know I have much more skills than him when it comes to this...and he's also not the guy to open sets, which is why it makes sense that he already knew her...

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Ok... but don't fall into that trap of thinking you're better than someone. People can surprise you.

I hated to interrupt the conversation they were having...but in retrospect, I probably should have said something sooner rather than standing there like a moron....

And my friend has no clue about the accomplishment intros and winging rules as such...I should have explained some of this to him...but I didn't expect him to be in set any...as you said, Snow Plowman...voice projection was a big reason that I didn't do so well

I agree Bling...and to be honest...I kinda did think that when I saw him talking to her...but then again he didn't sound like an idiot...proof positive of what happens when you do think that you're better than someone

Ok, my question is, why did you go into the conversation at all if you saw your friend talking with her and he didn't call you over? C*ckblocking him or something?

Know why you didn't get her number?

Karma for trying to ****block your buddy.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Just because he was surprised his friend was talking to a girl doesn't mean he has a superiority complex.

Wasn't c*ckblocking...I had no intentions of messing up his game. I just wanted to see if I could get anything out of it...after all, they were just friends.

Really?

Did you say that outloud or just think it? By saying it outloud, you are de-vauling your friend to the girl...Which would be a c*ckblock.

I just thought it...saying it outloud would be a DEFINATE c*ckblock, and it would make me look like a jealous a$$hole in the process
