"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Today I was grocery shopping, and I saw an HB9. She was bending down, looking at something, and as she got up and we walked passed each other we made split second eye contact.

Later, I got a chance to talk to her. She was right by me, looking at string cheese. I grabbed a pack and said, "String cheese is the sh*t, huh?" She laughed and agreed, and we talked about how when you were little you used to always try and pull off a thinner and longer piece than your friend.

She was about the same age as me, and this grocery store is right by my college, so it was pretty likely she was a student as well. This means there are a BILLION other ways to continue the conversation, and I was about to say, "So are you taking classes this summer?" But I didn't - I bailed.

This has always been my problem at parties too - first lull in the conversation and I walk away and go talk to someone else.

Anyway, I feel like if I talk about my failiures here I'll be more motivated to improve.

I don't know if there's any tips anyone can give me here. Seems more like I just have to have the balls and determination to stick in there.

BTW - as I was paying for my stuff, the girl came to the same register as me. There was nobody in line behind me, and we made eye contact again as she was walking towards the register. I thought there was a chance to talk to her again, but she ran into some friends and I felt like it would've been weird.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

dude I have the same problem. I'm an alright looking guy, so I have no reason to be nervous or whatever around women. I can usually open convos up well, its just when it comes to continuing it on I sometimes get a little stuck and then I feel awkward and I bail. need to work on that.

hmm

Though you seamed to cut it off early its better to stop early on a good note then overdoing it and loosing all attraction you may have had.

I seam to always do something wrong, maby not the first convo but it doesnt seam to be long before i screw up then girls just ignore me, act cold to me, ect... Im still trying to figure out what it is so for now better shut my mouth and be though a fool then open it and remove all doubt.

I've got the same problem. I come up with a clever situational opener, the girl laughs, i struggle to maintain convo and then bail out. I have driven conversations into catastrophic failure a couple of times during approaches previously. That's when I get the deadly WTF or "Uh, huh" look. I usually bail before I say something retarded out of anxiety.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
