Don Juan
Today I was grocery shopping, and I saw an HB9. She was bending down, looking at something, and as she got up and we walked passed each other we made split second eye contact.
Later, I got a chance to talk to her. She was right by me, looking at string cheese. I grabbed a pack and said, "String cheese is the sh*t, huh?" She laughed and agreed, and we talked about how when you were little you used to always try and pull off a thinner and longer piece than your friend.
She was about the same age as me, and this grocery store is right by my college, so it was pretty likely she was a student as well. This means there are a BILLION other ways to continue the conversation, and I was about to say, "So are you taking classes this summer?" But I didn't - I bailed.
This has always been my problem at parties too - first lull in the conversation and I walk away and go talk to someone else.
Anyway, I feel like if I talk about my failiures here I'll be more motivated to improve.
I don't know if there's any tips anyone can give me here. Seems more like I just have to have the balls and determination to stick in there.
BTW - as I was paying for my stuff, the girl came to the same register as me. There was nobody in line behind me, and we made eye contact again as she was walking towards the register. I thought there was a chance to talk to her again, but she ran into some friends and I felt like it would've been weird.
