"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

so i was at Barnes day Noble this evening. I was walking around with the "Dating for dummies" book and want to do the lame pick up lines approach, i see this hb8.5 sitting down on one of those step ladders reading...anxiety kicked in and i just couldnt do it.

Approach 1:

Then i drop the book and go grab a issue of Cosmo...then head over to the Cafe and grab a bottle of juice. I see an HB8 sitting down with her laptop and a big book on the table. I go over and did the "Available seat" opener...i tapped her on the shoulder...

ken: Excuse me..but is this seat taken? (smiles)

HB8: Oh...no, go ahead...

ken: (proceed to sit down next to her and look at her smiling with my magazine)

HB8: Oh...im studying...

ken: oh...i thought you said this seat wasnt taken??

HB8: I thought you were going to take it somewhere else...(looks at me with blank stare but kinda annoyed)

ken: Oh...

Then i didnt have a comeback so i just leave...

I know i know...LAME!! i need feedback...how would you guys approach if shes obviously sitting down studying? What would you guys have done different in this approach?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

First...Don't walk around with a Dating for Dummies book.

Second..Don't walk around with a cosmo? Are you trying to hit on guys or girls?

This girl sounds like a total *itch. Any reasonable person would've thought exactly what you thought about the seat situation.

On a side note, why would you go to Barnes and Noble to study? Couldn't she find a quieter place than a bookstore with a bunch of people around? I've never understood those types of people.

I think the problem is you didn't pick the right target. She's sitting down with books which means she's most likely studying and don't want to be bothered. If you're at Barnes and Nobles, it's MUCH better to try and strike up a conversation with a girl reading MAGAZINES or just sitting there sipping coffee. Don't worry about it, it's a learning process. Pat yoruself on the back for having the balls to approach.

But why go to a bookstore to study? If you're going to go to a public place to study, why not a library? A library is a lot more conducive to that.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

People have their own reasons. I study in bookstores all the time because it's close to my house, there are magazines for when I want to take a break, I can easily get coffee, and there are a lot of helpful books around I can look at to help study. Personally I think the bookstore is more meant to be used for studying than picking up women.

Damn, sounds like it would've been funny to watch...

With that said she could've tell from the moment you spoke that you were going to approach. Chicks can smell sh!t like that from a mile away. First of all you were choding around with that dating book. (Which is not a bad idea to tryout)

That first girl that you chickened out to approach, you should've approached. As for the one you actually talked too, you went in like a little chicken. You got to go in fuking hard like a bull with confidence. Do you really have to go in saying "Excuse me is this chair taken?" It was unneccessary and beating around the bush, go for what you want go in fuking hard.

Even if you went "Hey I'm ken"

So longs your don't go in like a wuss. It's obvious you was sub-communicating to her that you was going to open.

Let this be a lesson, if your going to approach just going in, even if your scared. Just don't go in like a little wuss.

Actually, you did pretty good by doing something most here wont, aproach hotties. I can see where you were going with the Dating for Dummies, book, that had the potential to be a good comical approach. You were just thrown off by her *****iness, which is her problem, not yours.

I would try it again with that book, but use a question opener. As long as you are having fun, you can practically say anything.

"hey, I was just reading this book, and wanted to try some lines on you", etc. Or just go in with a question, then whatever she answers, say that you read on the book that ______________. etc,.

yeah bro...i got totally approach anxiety on the first one but the second one iwas like fvck it, im never going to learn if i dont push myself. My heart was pounding and i got butterflies in my stomach but i did it anyway. Need some better openers/routines though...also need to learn building rapport/comfort too...

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

If you are here for openers/routines, then you must do a search and start memorizing some of the hundreds of those that will come up.

If you are going to go the routine route, don't fall into the trap that most guys do when they learn routines.

Don't let the routines rule you! Learn a few routines as a way to use at specific points in the interaction, but don't use it as a way to start conversation with women, because at the end of the day if you did pure routines you would be getting the girl based off of your lines. The minute she sees the real you, she'll lose attraction. (This gives people the illusion that game is suppose to be 100% perfect when that's impossible)

So my advice if you REALLY need routines, is to memorize 1 opener and maybe 2 attract routines, 1 kino routine and that is it. Everything else you can come up with yourself. You should also give yourself the rule of when you are allowed to use routines.

To me, since I've never personally done much routines, I did find that most of the routines would be best when first opening. So maybe you opened and then you did a routine to keep the girl's attention. By this time you're 2-3 mins in and now you're just completly vibing and learning.

To me in the long run it's better than routine after routine, to the point where your stacking stuff as if you're some level 90 mage who already has his pre-planned spells that he is going to use.

You would get the same response faster by picking your nose and wiping it on the table.

Then it would be funny to read about as opposed to painfully uncomfortable.

Try walking up to her with a tattoo mag and asking her which one would look best on your forehead. That might get her laughing.

Cosmo will get her asking tips on interior decorating.
