Forgot girlfriend's birthday.

Hey guys, I put my GF's birthday in my calendar for Saturday but I just found out it's actually today.
Tried calling her but she rejected the call. Sent her an apologetic text explaining the screw up and she replied she didn't want to talk because she doesn't know what to say. Obviously not happy.
We've been together exclusively for about a year so this is the first birthday of hers I've had to deal with.
Should I let her cool down or try to keep contacting her?

It might be a bit difficult, but you have to leave her alone for maybe a couple of days. You put effort into resolving it by apologizing for the error and explaining what happened. Now it's her turn to work at resolving it. If she doesn't put effort into resolving this petty issue, then she's going to make a lousy long term girlfriend.

I knew my brothers here would say that and glad I per-empted it.
Took her about an hour of radio silence from me before she started blowing up my phone and cracking jokes via text.
Her initial unreasonable reaction is disturbing though. Mental note taken.

It wasn't so long ago that I would've been begging for forgiveness and throwing myself at her mercy.
"Red pill" Greasy Pig stayed calm and rationalised that any overly negative overreaction on her part was her problem, not mine.
I was just worried that my indiscretion warranted more than one sincere apology but in my gut I knew it wasn't a massive deal.
