Saw this recent tweet by Ming Na Wen (you'll know her if you see her) posting a tweet of an old wedding photo of her and her husband eloping to Hawaii 22 years ago today. Obviously still together after all this time, and still together after all these years.

Unusual for a Hollywood type right?

Though there are some embittered folks here that pretty much have written off marriage altogether, does seeing something like this make you slightly think otherwise? That these 22 year married "unicorns" can find each other? I know non-Hollywood types like this, regular friends that still have marriages going strong...friends in their 40s on up and divorce is not even on their minds.

Here's what I see:

-Less than 5% of the married population enjoys their marriage.
-30% of the married population is not happy.
-65% of the married population is just rolling thru life on cruise control staying in the comfort zone. They tolerate their marriages for a multitude of reasons.

Who knows how many times they cheated on each other, if they had an open marriage or not for x amount of those 20 years etc.. If it was like a nuclear marriage from the 60s that would be nice. But for all the work and headache and heartache that comes with most modern marriages I would not change my mind about the institution of marriage. I'd rather play the lottery.
