I have a rough idea of what "making out" is, but I don't know what it really is. Could someone enlighten me on this?

My own thinking is that it constitute passionate kissing as well as touching, but I don't know...

Also, what is the definition of the 1st base, 2nd base, and so on? Again, I have some idea, but no one has told me what it really is..

2nd base: going up the shirt

3rd base: fingering the chick

"Making out" and all those other terms are all Americanisms not used in the rest of the English-speaking world, as far as I know. Certainly not in the British Isles. Perhaps the guy who started the thread does not come from North America. In Northern Ireland, "a court" or "courting", where the terms are pronounced as "a coort" or "coortin", are the equivalents forms of "making out". I don't know if the English still refer to it as "snogging"...
