"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I've spend my late teens and twenties in Florida and it was once a wonderful place. Affordable. Clean. Safe. It was a perfect paradise.

Nowadays we have King Tides. It's high tidal water which floods the streets. You see, since 2000s, sea level rose by 6 inches. Sea level is predicted to rise another4 to 8 inches in the next 10 years. In addition, gulf stream has slowed down, which naturally removes less water, and causes more water to hit Florida, sea level is naturally higher because of gulf stream.

Florida is going under water. Streets are flooding. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=florida+king+tide

No. From my late teens and twenties in Florida I do not recall we had something called "King Tides". If there was king tides, the water was just higher in the bay and canals. Streets were not flooded.

Another thing is tiny hats. Florida is tiny hat world, it's similar to New York. Police protect tiny hats. There used to be enforcement of speed and traffic back in the day, as I remember, and I remember it well, I had more than 10 points on my license. Now, all police are doing is protecting tiny hat communities. There is no enforcement on the streets.

This leads us to the next part. Because tiny hats run everything, price of living is expensive. Property is unobtanium. Taxes are through the roof and then some. People are being priced the hell out of their properties. There is a reason for that. The new thing is to buy properties, cheap, and the land and build condos, so people can rent. Presently you can rent yourself a unit, prices is around $2500.

Homelessness exits. People are living on the streets and out of their cars. It is not as pronounced as in California. It's low key. If you get around during the day you won't even see much homeless. Only night brings you the images of homeless, prostitution and drug use.

Cleanliness also comes to mind. I remember from you youth Florida was much cleaner. Streets were literally cleaner. Roads were much better, now it's potholes all over.

Then, there is also now too much people in Florida. Literally, overcrowding.

So if you are considering moving to Florida. Reconsider. It is not a good place to move to.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I suppose Florida sucks if you're an average person with an average salary.

But I'll bet the dudes at the top of the food chain clean up in Florida.

The tougher the competition, the sweeter the prize.
