"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Field Report:
So Saturday night, I get off work thinking I don't have anything to do. Which at the time, seemed nice since I had just spent the last 2 nights out partying. But around 9pm I get a call from this girl, girl C (HB7), she wants to know if I want to go to a party with her. I agree, but think that I'm not going to party that hard.

Long story short, the people that know me, know that when I party I never party lightly. I always consume a large quantity of alcohol.

So we are at this apartment party, it's not big maybe 12 people. So me and girl C start drinking and just mingling, I try to spend my time talking to other people to further social proof myself with girl C.

Around midnight my ex-gf (girl N) shows up at the party, she's an HB7 but she's also the girl that sent me into a pretty deep depression/one-it-is/AFC whatever over last spring/early summer during the last month we were dating and for a while afterwards. I had managed to go the entire summer not talking to her, but after about of week after college started (oh yeah we go to the same school, if that wasn't apparent) she IMs me over AIM and we just chit chat. Anyway, back to the party.

I acknowledge my ex and say "Hi" and do the whole nicety thing, "how are you?","blah blah blah".

Then around 2am, I decide I've had enough of mingling and determine it's time to isolate girl C. So we go outside for a fag, we sit next to each on this couch. I can sense her sex drive kicking into high, so I pull the "would you like to kiss me?" and she does the whole bite her lip thing, so I move in for the kill. We make out for a little bit, but she pulls back and says "We shouldn't be doing this, we are too drunk". I was drunk, and taken back, so I didn't know what to say. So she walked back inside.

At this point, I was too drunk to think on my own. So I call some DJ friends of mine for advice on how to destroy her LMR. After being told to go along with what she says, ie "Yeah, you're right this is so wrong. They should ban stuff like this.". Who should walk out but my ex, girl N.

Girl N offers me a fag, so I take it. We sit on the couch next to each other. I don't really remember the exact details of what she said, but it was a bunch of crap about me and her. At one point she even said "You're my lobster", which I assume is a reference to Friends. I'm drunk so I figure what the ****, so without even asking or prior motioning. I turn grab her head and start fiercely making out with her. She pulls away and says, "No, we can't do this. I want too. But you're drunk and I don't think you would want to do this."

She walks back inside, so I go back inside. After being back in the party for about 15 mins I learn that girl C found out about me and girl N making out on the porch, don't know if she saw or what. Anyway so I say **** it, and just start pounding more beers.

Anaylsis:
Obviously I waited way to long to isolate girl C, I should have done it a lot earlier in the night. Though I'm unsure about whether making out with my ex, girl N, was a mistake or not. Since I think I may have crossed the boundary from AFC to DJ/PUA, becuase the day after I didn't feel a surge of emotions and one-it-is about her coming back. I was mostly pissed that I didn't lay girl C. I'm undecided if I should try turning girl N into a FB.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Agree with thederekeffect. There's no problem with her seeing you making out with someone else. From experience, I don't think it's a good idea to fúck exes. It can mess things up bad.

I think your friends meant you should go along with what she says verbally, and move forward like she's saying none of it. Agree verbally, ignore nonverbally. Keep it up, buddy.

EDIT: I just realized you made out with 2 people out of 12 at this party. Nice work. Did anyone else get anything? ;)
