"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Okay. So I call up this girl who I hardle call anymore, to return her call. We used to hang out a lot more last semester, but this semester I kinda lost interest, so half the semester went by before she finally calls. She asks me to hang out once, but I decline, and generally only call if she calls me first.

I was into her last semester, but she would always kinda keep me at arm's length, so now the tables seemed to have turned.

Anyway I call this girl tonight (An HB8.5, cute latina chick) and I ask her what's up. She invites me to see a (The Castle by Frank Kafka) play with her at the school arts center. I say okay, and she giggles. We meet up, but she says that another couple would be joining us. Wasn't a big deal. Three-quarter through the play I get a serious case of the munchies, leave her in the theater, go to the cafe, and eat. On the way back I realize the Caribbean Cub is throwing a bash. I go back to theater, but the play's over. She wanted to join her friend and the friend's date at a bar, but I said no. I told her that we would go to the party instead, but we had to stop by my dorm for a change a clothes. We get there, I change. She compliments me at least 3 times for the night.

When we're sitting, she feels my biceps, smiles and says: you've been working out" and stares at my chest. Whatever. Where going up in the elevator, and I slip off my jacket. She's staring at me and smiling again. What!? I say. She says : 'The way you take off your jacket, you should be like a model or something. Plus you smell good, what are you wearing?
(Perry Ellis 360 for men. Its only 28 dolars, but its good stuff)
We get to my room, she compliments my wardrobe, and teases me by saying that I'm a pimp, She says that even though I didn't see her, she saw me in action. (?????) did she see me sarging?
We go to the party, which is only 3 dollars to enter, so I pay for her. I know I know, but common its only 3 dollars.

As we are walking in I say, "Take my arm." The b!tch laughs and says no. Now the party is dead, so we decide to leave. However, between the clothes I was wearing an the girl, I got a lot of looks my way from some of the ladies outside, including this one girl who was eyeing me who i used to be into last semester. I could almost see my social value going up. Anyway, we bail. We drive in her car to a restaurant and bar, and while we're driving, I ask her why she didn't take my arm. She says its because we're not dating. Now I'm thinking "Then what the **** are we doing?" But I don't say anything. We get their, join her friend and her date, but my date (Annette)'s friend keeps going on about Hotel Rwanda and the genocide and 800.000 people getting chopped up in 4 days and the world stood by and did nothing etc etc.

Now I'm actually into this stuff, but Anette's getting depressed, and there's a time and place for everything, including politics.

I'm thinking whether to next this girl as she drops me back to campus. She seems to be interested only in friendship despite the fact that she obviously finds me attractive, whereas I feel as though I have enough friends as it is, and I only want to date this girl. So here's my dilemma: do I next her? I don't need another buddy. But at the same time, she's hot, and she likes going out with me, and even though we aren't dating, and she only wants me as a friend, when we go out I get a lot of social proof off of her. As a matter of fact, one girl i unsuccesfully macked on in the oast walks up to me and asks me who is she. I say "She's Annette" and I leave it at that.

I don't mean to be cold, but she could be an extension of my wardrobe. Beautiful women want what other beautiful women want. But at the same time, I don't like her enough as a friend to just hang with her as a buddy. Should I next her, or simply use her for my own purposes, namely, to attract other beautiful women?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
